Auto Air Vent - Scope of Use - Specification Sheet

Oct 25, 2026

Auto Air Vent is an air and vacuum relief valve for closed-circuit solar hot water systems and recirculated hot water systems. It uses high temperature Viton O-Rings to handle high stagnation temperatures and operates via a float mechanism to release accumulated air under water pressure. It also functions as a vacuum breaker when the circuit is isolated and drained. Specifications include maximum 230°C and 1400 kPa, vertical installation requirement, listed materials, and warranty coverage by Reliance Worldwide Corporation (Aust.) Pty. Ltd.

Valves and Plumbing Auto Air Vent Scope of Use / Specification Sheet The Auto Air Vent is an air and vacuum relief valve for use on closed-circuit solar hot water systems and recirculated hot water systems. Product Code Model Product Code Auto Air Vent 15mm AVHTS-15 Description The Auto Air Vent has been designed using high temperature Viton® O-Rings seal in order to withstand high stagnation temperatures encountered in solar hot water systems. The Auto Air Vent will also act as a vacuum breaker in situations where the closed circuit is isolated and drained. During normal operation, accumulated air in the system is relieved through the valve by means of a float mechanism. Gathered air bubbles cause the float to drop, opening the valve and forcing the air out under water pressure until the float rises and once again seals the valve. Application The Auto Air Vent is an air and vacuum relief valve designed for use with solar and recirculated hot water systems. Refer to solar hot water system manufacturers’ installation requirements for the correct positioning of the valve in the system . Typically, the valve is installed at the highest point of the solar hot water system, or at a location where air bubbles are likely to accumulate. If installed in a recirculated hot water system, the valve will need tobe positioned over a tundish. FAQs

What systems is the Auto Air Vent designed for?

It is designed for use with solar and recirculated hot water systems.

How does the Auto Air Vent remove air during normal operation?

Accumulated air is relieved through a float mechanism: bubbles cause the float to drop, opening the valve and forcing air out until the float rises and seals again.

What are the key temperature and pressure limits?

The maximum temperature is 230°C and the maximum working pressure is 1400 kPa.
