A comprehensive art reference resource centered on life nude photography for figure drawing, painting, and sculpture. The foreword “A Second Renaissance” frames the renewed prominence of representational art and traditional study of the human figure. It emphasizes the practical benefits of using professionally produced photographic poses: self-paced working, consistent long-lasting poses, and access to varied angles and costs compared with hiring multiple models. The book includes artist and photographer context and indexes.
