Andiba lives in a remote valley town known for its winery and distillery, working in a local bakery and enjoying quiet walks alone in the countryside. One day, unusual deep voices lead her to a sleek silver ship-like building where four unfamiliar creatures stand watch. Their conversation suggests they have traveled from far away, plan to keep the ship safe, rely on a verbal entry code, and hold troubling intentions that make Andiba increasingly wary.

Andiba liked living in this little town.Several days a week she worked in a smallbakery, selling bread and cakes to thelocal townspeople. The best part of her # TIME LORD FAIRY TALES day was when Vash came in to buy bread.Vash, whose father was the manager of thewinery and distillery, always seemed to behappy. His smile brightened Andiba's day. When she was not working in thebaker's shop,Andiba would go walking inthe valley just beyond the town. She likedthe fact that she was able to walk out intothe countryside and,in just a few minutes, lose herself in the fields and woodland.Sheloved to walk alone, listening to the wind inthe trees, the birds singing and the distantchuckle of the streams and waterfalls. One day while she was out walkingAndiba heard voices, which was unusual.Even though other people from the towndid venture into the countryside, the valleywas so large that Andiba rarely met anyone 9 else-especially since she did not keep tothe paths and roads, but explored the moreremote areas. The voices were deep andstrange, and this made Andiba wary.Beingcareful not to make any noise and to stayhidden in the trees, she crept closer to tryto find out who the voices belonged to. She found herself at the edge of aslope that led down into a shallow dip inthe landscape.Below her was a large silverbuilding. It was strange, sleek and curved, like nothing she had ever seen before.Standing outside it were four creatures-also like nothing she had ever seen before. They were tall with pot bellies and longarms that ended in clawed fingers.Theirheads, which seemed to be balancedprecariously on their necks, had round, TIME LORD FAIRY TALES almost childlike faces with big, dark eyes. 'The ship will be safe here,'one of thecreatures told the others.'No one from thetown ventures this far afield.' 'Even if someone did find it,'anotherof the creatures said,'they are such aprimitive people that they would think itwas just a building. The concept of spacetravel is far beyond them. And they cannotget in without the verbal entry code.' This was certainly all beyond Andiba;she had absolutely no idea what the creatureswere talking about. What was clear to her, though, was that they had come from far,far away, and she suspected that theirintentions, whatever they might be,werenot good.A
