Only by standing together can you hope to defeat it and put an end to the ancient evil. The story will conclude with either your victory or the fall of your group, but every step of the journey will test your courage and determination. The Hunters At the heart of Ancient Blood are the Hunters, fearless and determined heroes trained to face and destroy the creatures of the night. They are the last line of defense against the ancient evil, ready to sacrifice themselves to stop the Elders and save the world. Each Hunter of the core box belongs to one of the four classes available in the game, each with its own combat style, strengths, and role within the group. At the beginning of each game, players choose which Hunter class to play. Your chosen class will define how you confront threats, the tactics you rely on, and the abilities you’ll develop throughout the game. | Class | Role | Key Traits | | --- | --- | --- | | Warrior (Kurt) | Melee fighter | Strong against slow and tough enemies, less agile | | Assassin (Giselle) | Ranged attacker | Effective against fast and agile vampires | | Healer (Ellie) | Support and fast attacks | Can heal and strike, very versatile | | Tank (Otto) | Durable and powerful defender | Absorbs damage, ideal against slow and strong enemies | Expansions add new Hunters, allowing you to mix and match to create your ideal party and customize your playstyle. When forming a team, always check the Hunter’s attack stats to ensure a good balance between speed and power. For your first game, start with the four Hunters included in the core box. Once you're familiar with the game mechanics, you can experiment by choosing different Hunters and combining them to create a well-balanced combat team. Note: From this point on, the rules assume a game with four Hunters in play. For games with two or three Hunters, refer to the special rules section: Playing with Two Hunters.
