American University of Beirut Admission to AUB 2017–18 The American University of Beirut seeks students of sound character who have demonstrated academic achievement and promise. The University admits students regardless of race, color, religion, gender, disability or national origin. While it attracts students from more than sixty countries from around the world, AUB serves primarily applicants from Lebanon, the Arab world and other countries of the Middle East, and seeks to maintain geographic distribution within the region. The University values its strong ties with its alumni and considers the attendance of alumni children important to the maintenance of these ties and to the continuation of its traditions. As the language of instruction is English, command of the language, both oral and written, is essential to every student’s success in his or her study program. The degrees of the American University of Beirut are officially registered with the Ministry of Higher Education in Lebanon and at the Board of Education of the State of New York. AUB has institutional accreditation from the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Philadelphia, USA.
