Alogliptin Metformin Synergy Ameliorates Diabetes Associated Bone Loss via DPP-4 Activity and OPG/RANKL Signaling

Type 2 diabetes mellitus disrupts bone remodeling and increases fracture risk, while many antidiabetic therapies provide limited skeletal protection. This study assessed whether alogliptin and metformin counter diabetes-associated bone loss and whether combined therapy shows synergy. Molecular docking examined OPG/RANK/RANKL regulators, UMR-106 cells used MTT and combination index analyses, and female Wistar rats received 8-week treatment after diet/streptozotocin induction.
