Surface Pre-treatment May be applied in most cases directly on to the clean primer/substrate. Appropriate solvent-borne and water-waterborne fillers are to be applied on composite substrates. Chemical pre-treatment (phosphating, chromating) or use of a suitable primer (e.g. SEEVENAX Primer 313-02) may improve adhesion to metal substrates further. A white primer (e.g. ALEXIT FST Filler 343-60) must be used under very brilliant colours (such as yellow, orange or red) and light or pure white shades and defined dry film thickness have to be applied. For further details please contact your local Mankiewicz representative. The recoating time of the paint layer underneath must be observed. For further details please refer to the latest version of the relevant technical datasheet. FAQs

What performance properties must ALEXIT FST-Strukturlack 404-12 fulfill for aerospace use?

It must meet FST properties for flammability, smoke gas density, toxicity, and heat release, with listed FAR/JAR/CS and material test references.

How is the product typically applied and what are the key spraying parameters?

It can be applied via compressed air spraying using specific thinner additions, flow times, nozzle sizes, and spraying pressures. Two-layer application includes defined intermediate drying and separate fine/coarse texture settings.

What are the drying and recoating timelines at 20 °C and 60 °C?

At 20 °C, dust dry is about 20 minutes, assembly dry is about 2 hours, and recoating window ranges from 30 minutes to 7 days. At 60 °C, flash-off is about 15 minutes, assembly dry is about 1 hour, and fully cured guidance is provided.
