Mapping guide aligning Advanced High School Statistics, 2nd Ed. (AHSS2) chapters to the AP Statistics Course and Exam Description (CED) units. Provides a unit-by-unit crosswalk with corresponding chapter references and AP Exam multiple-choice weighting ranges for each CED unit. Also includes a reverse alignment following the AHSS2 chapter order, linking chapter sections to CED units and MC weighting. Useful for planning study sequences and verifying coverage across data exploration, sampling distributions, inference, and chi-square or slope topics.

FAQs

How does the document align AHSS2 to AP Statistics CED units?

It lists each CED unit alongside the AHSS2 chapters/sections that cover the same topic areas, and includes the corresponding AP Exam multiple-choice weighting range for each unit.

Is there a reverse alignment that follows the AHSS2 chapter order?

Yes. A second table maps AHSS2 chapters to the CED units, again showing where each chapter fits within the exam’s CED unit structure and the MC weighting.

Where can I find the exam weighting information for each topic area?

The tables provide AP Exam multiple-choice weighting percentages for every CED unit (and the reverse table lists the same CED unit correspondences in AHSS2 order).

Which CED units relate to sampling distributions and inference topics?

Sampling distributions correspond to CED Unit 5, categorical inference for proportions corresponds to CED Unit 6, chi-square inference corresponds to CED Unit 8, quantitative means inference corresponds to CED Unit 7, and slope/regression inference corresponds to CED Unit 9.
