This was often a practical decision based upon factors like: Short duration of supply, uncomfortable masks, difficult and costly refills, heavy weight and large bulk. Aerox systems remove the foregoing objections, plus one more. The price is right. Add to your flying comfort by using oxygen at altitudes as low as 5000 ft. Aerox Oxygen Systems include lightweight aluminum cylinders, regulators, all hardware, flow meter, and nasal cannulas (masks available as option) . Oxysaver oxygen saving cannulas & Aerox Flow Control Regulators increase the duration of oxygen supply about 4 times, and prevent nasal irritation and dryness. FAQs

Why were Aerox oxygen systems introduced for pilots prior to their use?

The document explains that earlier practice reserved oxygen for legally necessary situations above 12,500 ft., due to short supply duration, uncomfortable masks, difficult/costly refills, and heavy bulk.

What components are included with complete Aerox oxygen systems?

Aerox Oxygen Systems include lightweight aluminum cylinders, regulators, all hardware, a flow meter, and nasal cannulas, with masks available as an option.

How does the Aerox Pro-O2 emergency handheld system provide oxygen during an aircraft’s primary system failure?

It is refillable and provides oxygen until the aircraft can reach a lower altitude. Oxygen flow is activated immediately by pulling the mask or ring away from the tank, and it is described as avoiding costly and dangerous chemical O2 generators.
