FAQs

What is the core premise of Dungeon Module D1?

The module follows adventurers as they pursue drow forces that escaped northwest through an underground passage beneath a lava river, requiring exploration, mapping, and confrontation in the caverns.

What planning considerations does the module highlight before the descent?

It stresses careful preparation: choosing expedition size, arranging supplies and equipment, ensuring drinking water, and considering possible elven assistance that could affect success or failure.

Who is the module designed for, and what party size is recommended?

It warns that earlier scenario modules expect above-average player ability with high-level characters (around 9th–10th minimum). Judging from test play, it advises a party size of 7–9 for characters about 10th level, with the option to return periodically to recover resources.
