ACCA Applied Skills Financial Reporting (FR) Study Text for 2020–21 ISDC 2 provides structured learning support for students studying Financial Reporting as part of the ACCA Applied Skills level. The material follows a topic-based structure that begins with published accounts and tangible non-current assets, then develops into intangible assets, impairment of assets, and non-current assets held for sale and discontinued operations. These chapters establish the foundations needed to understand how different types of assets are recognized, measured and presented in financial statements.

The study text then moves into the conceptual and regulatory framework, including measurement principles and other accounting standards. Financial assets and financial liabilities, foreign currency, revenue, leases, taxation and earnings per share are covered in dedicated chapters, followed by IAS 37 and IAS 10 and the preparation and interpretation of statements of cash flows. This makes the material useful for learners who want to work through Financial Reporting concepts systematically rather than relying only on condensed revision notes.

A substantial part of the later chapters focuses on group accounting and consolidated financial statements. The material explains the principles of consolidated financial statements before moving into the consolidated statement of financial position, consolidated statement of profit or loss, associates and group disposals. The final substantive chapter addresses interpretation of financial statements, helping students connect accounting information with the analysis of financial performance and position. Appendices provide published financial statements and objective case questions, followed by references and an index.

For students using an ACCA FR study text PDF or ACCA financial reporting study text PDF as part of their preparation, the chapter-by-chapter structure provides a convenient way to review individual syllabus areas and return to specific accounting standards when needed. The older F7 terminology may also be relevant when referring to ACCA F7 book Kaplan PDF materials, as Financial Reporting was previously identified by the F7 code. Alongside the detailed study text, concise revision resources such as ACCA Financial Reporting (FR) Notes Sep 2025 To Jun 2026 can provide a quicker overview of accounting frameworks, standards, consolidated financial statements and financial ratio analysis. The material can also be used to free read and download for study and revision, allowing learners to review the relevant chapters alongside their ACCA preparation.
