A Bedtime Story - Dedicated to Little Feckers - by S COTTY DONAT S

Sep 29, 2026

A bedtime story dedicated to parents and “little feckers” who keep families awake, blending mock-heroic humor with affectionate frustration. The front matter frames the book’s premise around sleepless nights, loud morning disturbances, and the irony of readers searching for rest. It includes acknowledgments to a long list of individuals credited with editorial and creative input, followed by a table of contents that outlines multiple chapters, including mock historical and confrontational fantasy-sounding segments.

DEDICATION Dedicated to allthe parents who deal with little feckers. Also dedicated to all the little feckers everywhere, withoutwhom this book would not exist. Also dedicated to all the books that do not exist, maybe you will someday. Also dedicated to whoever is making that bangingsound next door at 5am,may you never have thepleasure of owning a book like this. Unless of course you are willing to buy one for yourselfAND everyone you know. Then I'll let you off, even though the banging noise isreally beginning to annoy me now,and soon I'llbe saying,“screw the books, just stop the banging noise.” Also dedicated to everyone who has made it this far throughthe dedications, may you eventually reach the end of thededications. And may you never have to experience the banging noisesthat I have to endure. Even though presumably you've bought this book becauseyou're not getting much sleep because of little feckers,in which case you'll probably still be up at 5am anyway,so it won't make a lot of difference to you. And so on. https://archive.org/details/isbn_9781461164630 CONTENTS Acknowledgments i 1 Pontifications on the origins of littlePg.1feckers 2 A brief history of going to sleep andPg.7why it is so hard for little feckers tomaster 3 More of the same from the first twoPg.26chaptersand ahalf 4 Something different, but actuallyPg.7pretty similar 5 The Fight of Utheril and the Taking of Pg.138Manakandil 6 The “let's pretend the last chapterPg.never happened”chapter165,987 7 Chapter 2 revisited, but named chapter Pg.127 8 A critique of chapters 1-4 Pg.1 9 The mysteriously uncouth chapterPg.Bnumber 9 10 Chapter 10 and friendsPg.-56 # ACKNOWLEDGMENTS They say that no man is an island and that every person's achievements arebuilt upon the support of those around them, and so it is too with this bookthat you hold in your hands. Countless hours were put into the making of this book, many sleeplessnights agonizing over editorial decisions, cover designs, titles, plot points, characterization, and what variety and flavor of snack foods should beeaten in the process.A plethora of talented individuals would shout thingsout to me,such as,"pizza,"and "peanuts."Of course the final decision wasalways mine to take, but I am indebted to those who went out of their wayto come into the living room and say things. These people include:Jimmy“Jimson”Jims,Bob McBob,Jane Janerton,Fred Frederickstone,Lionel Liono,Patrick Patrickson,Lucy McLucy,Walter“Walter”Waltermaker,Katy Katedoodle,Dan Danielbrieger, and Ned Nedo. To anyone I forgot to name, perhaps you just didn't speak loudly enough atthe time,or perhaps I don't know how to spell your name and wouldn't liketo take a stab at it just in case I got it wrong. But you are all forever in my heart and mind, and I hope it doesn't put youoff purchasing numerous copies for yourself, your friends, and your familyat hopefully full retail price or thereabouts. Thanks i
