FAQs

What is the key difference between SAB 8051A and SAB 8031A?

SAB 8051A includes non-volatile 4K×8 mask-programmable ROM, while SAB 8031A is identical except that it lacks the program memory.

What are the supported operating frequencies and basic memory sizes?

The family supports 12 MHz, 16 MHz, and 20 MHz. SAB 8051A provides 4K×8 ROM and 128×8 RAM, with the same general I/O and timer structure across the family.

How does the microcontroller handle serial communication and external memory expansion?

It provides a high-performance full-duplex serial channel with flexible transmit/receive bound-rate capability (UART). External memory can be expanded using standard TTL-compatible memories, expandable up to 128 Kbytes.
