FAQs

How does the chart convert an AP score into RCCD credits?

For each AP exam, the chart pairs the score range (typically 3, 4, 5) with RCCD associate degree subject credit and RCCD unit credit, plus the relevant RCCD GE area designation where applicable.

Why do some subjects have different credit rules based on the exam date?

Several entries split the same exam into different rows depending on when the exam was taken (for example, prior to Fall 2009 or Fall 2009 and later), each with its own credit mapping.

What happens if a student takes more than one related AP exam for a subject like Calculus or Computer Science?

The chart includes notes stating that if a student passes more than one exam in that subject, only one exam may be applied for credit.
