It details a three-part structure: the introductory \"Hook,\" the \"Pitch\" in the middle paragraphs, and the \"Close.\" The \"Hook\" section advises readers to introduce qualifications, share a story, mention a referral, highlight company aspects, state achievements, and pose a thought-provoking question. The \"Pitch\" focuses on detailing relevant qualifications and proven results, targeting the employer's needs, ensuring clarity, and instilling confidence. The \"Close\" involves a concise summary, a clear call to action such as requesting a phone call or interview, providing contact information, and expressing gratitude. The document stresses that generic templates are insufficient and encourages thorough research into the organization's challenges to demonstrate how the applicant's skills can provide solutions. It concludes with well wishes for writing successful, personalized cover letters. I want to caution you though that each cover letter needs to be tailored to the specific job that you are applying for. You can’t just have 1 template anymore and use that for every position. If you can, take the time to find out what the unique problems, challenges etc. of the organization might be. Show them how you have the qualifications to help them solve their problems. And YES, even though you might have some of this on your resume, be sure to key in on some of the main issues in the cover letter as well. \nFirst Paragraph-The “Hook” \nMiddle Paragraph-The “Pitch” \nIntroduce your qualifications up front Tell them a story \nDrop a name \nHighlight something about their business Jump right into your results \nAsk a question that makes them think \nYou’ve hooked ‘em, now sell ‘em! \nHighlight your relevant qualifications and results \n(sell your value, what you can offer to make their company better) Target what they need or want \nMake it clear, easy to read – don’t be shy \nLast Paragraph-The “Close” \nQuick summary (one sentence) Call to action (phone call, interview) Tell them how to contact you Thank them \nGood luck in writing successful and tailored cover letters! \n[http://mbrownassociates.com/](http://mbrownassociates.com/) \n© Copyright-Marshall Brown & Associates 2013-all rights reserved","cbCaibg48LN6AhLj","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibg48LN6AhLj","pdf",229998,"English","# WRITING A SUCCESSFUL COVER LETTER\n## First Paragraph-The “Hook”\n## Middle Paragraph-The “Pitch”\n## Last Paragraph-The “Close”","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the first paragraph in a cover letter?\",\"answer\":\"The first paragraph, known as the \\\"Hook,\\\" aims to grab the reader's attention by introducing your qualifications, possibly sharing a story, dropping a name, highlighting something about the business, or asking a thought-provoking question.\"},{\"question\":\"What should be included in the middle paragraphs of a cover letter?\",\"answer\":\"The middle paragraphs, or the \\\"Pitch,\\\" should highlight your relevant qualifications and results, focusing on the value you can offer to make the company better.
