If you haven’t read them before, make sure to read them all when you finish this booklet. \nThis short booklet has been compiled by the Talim department of Majlis Atfal-ul-Ahmadiyya UK. For comments, questions, suggestions or feedback, please contact us at[talim@atfal.co.uk](talim@atfal.co.uk). \nWhat is the Winter Reading Challenge? \nThe Winter Reading Challenge’s aim is to provide Atfal with an opportunity to keep themselves busy during the Holiday period with the help of a short compilation of faith inspiring and exciting new stories from the diaries of Abid Khan sahib. \nThe “Challenge” itself is broken down into different categories to accommodate for all Atfal. These categories are as follows: \n\n| Category | Criteria | Aimed at |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Bronze | Read 11 stories from this booklet | Under 7s |\n| Silver | Read 22 stories from this booklet | Dianat Group (7 to 9) |\n| Gold | Read the whole booklet | Sadaaqat Group (10 to 12) |\n| Platinum | Read the whole booklet and submit a 60 second video recording of yourself telling us about your favourite story from the booklet | Shuja’at Group (13 to 15) |\n\nThere is nothing stopping a young tifl to aim for the Platinum category and we encourage you to send your videos even if you do not get to finish the whole booklet. \nAll details and resources, along with the final confirmation form, is available on the Talim website: \n[www.atfal.org.uk/talim-reading-challenge/](www.atfal.org.uk/talim-reading-challenge/) \nOr email us at: [talim@atfal.co.uk](talim@atfal.co.uk) \nEnjoy the stories! \nA Virus Like no Other \nThrough January and February, I presented daily updates to Huzoor about the coronavirus and after seeing Huzoor’s reaction and response, it was clear to me at an early stage that this was no ordinary virus. From the outset, I could see how seriously Huzoor was taking the outbreak, well before it was declared a global threat or a pandemic. \nMost Ahmadis will be familiar with the fact that Huzoor prescribed homeopathy medicines for COVID-19 in the very early stages, when the vast majority of cases remained in China or its neighbouring countries. \nIn a similar vein, I recall how, in mid-February 2020, when the UK was still very much ‘open’ and restrictions were still several weeks away, I asked Huzoor if our Jamaat events would be affected by the coronavirus. \nIn response, Huzoor said: \n“Yes, it is likely they will be. The Peace Symposium is scheduled for late March but I do not think it will be possible to hold it.” \nThereafter, Huzoor asked: \n“What do you think about holding the Peace Symposium?” \nUpon this, I most humbly submitted: \n“Huzoor, I also thought that it may be difficult, especially, given that guests come from across the UK and abroad. It is also possible that there could be government restrictions on large gatherings by then.” \nHearing this, Huzoor said: \n“Yes, we would not know where the guests have travelled recently or with whom they would have come into contact and so there is a clear risk.” \nIn light o","cbCaijw9QZKX64kv","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijw9QZKX64kv","pdf",344608,32,"English","# Introduction\n# What is the Winter Reading Challenge?\n## Reading categories and criteria\n# A Virus Like no Other\n# Precautionary Measures\n# A sense of dread","[{\"question\":\"What is the Winter Reading Challenge meant to do for Atfal?\",\"answer\":\"It aims to keep Atfal busy during the holiday period through a short compilation of faith-inspiring and exciting new stories from the diaries of Abid Khan Sahib.\"},{\"question\":\"How do the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum categories differ?\",\"answer\":\"Bronze requires reading 11 stories for Under 7s, Silver requires 22 stories for the Dianat Group (7 to 9), Gold requires reading the whole booklet for the Sadaaqat Group (10 to 12), and Platinum requires the whole booklet plus a 60-second video for the Shuja’at Group (13 to 15).\"},{\"question\":\"Where can readers find details, resources, and the final confirmation form?\",\"answer\":\"Details, resources, and the final confirmation form are available on the Talim website at www.atfal.org.uk/talim-reading-challenge/.
