The staff at Immanuel Lutheran wants to work with you to insure a worshipful wedding and a memorable day. Read along and find lots of helpful information as well as guidelines that Immanuel has established for weddings.\nTaking the Initial Steps:\nThe following arrangements should be completed before making further plans for your wedding at Immanuel.\nArrange a date for your wedding\nWe make every effort to accommodate the wedding reservations of your choice, but please understand that the pastor may not be able to accommodate the day you want. We schedule only one wedding per day. Because of the busy schedule of our building, staff and others, weddings are not scheduled during Holy Week, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or other national holidays. Reservations for wedding dates and times are on a first-come, first-served basis with Immanuel members having the first option. Your wedding date is considered \"reserved\" when you have had your first meeting with the pastor.  All fees are due by the wedding rehearsal, except for non-members where there is a $50.00 non-refundable fee at the time of the reservation and for reservations of the Fellowship Hall.  Please see the section of fees for more information.\nThe Pastor\nYour reservation must be made with the pastor, since it is his schedule that is directly affected.  He will do his best to honor your request. About three months before your wedding, please arrange a meeting with the pastor so that your wedding service may be planned and your pre-marital counseling begun.\nIn some cases, a couple may wish for another pastor to participate in their wedding.  The pastor at Immanuel is very open to discussing this possibility in consultation with him; however, in most cases, the pastor of Immanuel officiates at any wedding at Immanuel.\nIn the planning of a wedding, please send an invitation to the pastor if you wish him to attend your wedding reception.  He will not attend your reception unless he is sent an invitation.  If the pastor is unable to attend your reception, he will do her best to attend the rehearsal dinner, but he will not attend both events.\nPlanning for your Marriage and Wedding\nBuilding a Healthy Marriage\nWe want your marriage to be as happy as your wedding day. To help insure this, all couples married at Immanuel will participate in pre-marriage counseling well in advance of the wedding day. Specifically, pre-marriage preparation will include one of the following:\nLutheran Social Services Pre-marriage Program This one day workshop entitled “Intimate Beginnings” is designed to focus couples on six areas of marriage that will be helpful in developing and maintaining a strong Christian marriage.\nPREPARE:   This inventory and assessment is a proven way to help you and your partner identify strengths and growth areas in your relationship.
