In order to help your family plan for this special event involving your son or daughter, we would like to pass along some important information to assist you with preparing for this special day and the week preceding it. \nDate/Time of Graduation Ceremony \nWalworth Middle School eighth grade students will graduate on Friday, June 5, at 7:00 P.M. The graduation ceremony will be held at Big Foot High School in the auditorium. Please have graduates arrive by 6:30 P.M. Remember, arriving as early as possible does allow you to get the seating you prefer for this event. Also, if your family is in need of hearing impaired services, please notify Mrs.Ortiz as soon as convenient. \nGraduation Reception \nThere will be a reception for all graduates, families, and guests immediately following the graduation ceremony. \nGraduation Attire \nThe eighth grade graduation ceremony is a relatively formal event. Our eighth grade students do not wear graduation gowns or graduation hats. Instead, they wear dress clothes. Our female students typically wear dresses or a dressy pants outfit. Our male students wear dress shirts with ties. A sport coat is not required. The rental of a tuxedo is not recommended and would be unusual. If your son or daughter is hesitant about what to wear, please contact the class advisor for assistance. \nGraduation Extras \nThe school district provides each eighth grade graduate, both males and females, with a flower for the graduation ceremony. Female students receive a long-stemmed rose to carry and male students receive a boutonniere to wear. \nSchool Fees and Fines \nAll fees and fines must be paid by eighth grade students prior to the graduation ceremony in order to participate. Fee reminders will be sent to families in April, and May. \nPhotographs and Recording Devices \nThere will be many opportunities for pictures to be taken throughout the graduation ceremony. We ask only that parents remember to be courteous to other parents. \nEighth Grade Awards \nEach year, several awards are distributed to many of our eighth grade students during the eighth grade graduation ceremony. We do this so that parents and families of our graduates can join us in saluting the fine accomplishments of our eighth graders. This year, the graduation awards that your son or daughter is eligible to receive include: the Wildcat Award, the Administrator ’s Award, the Frank J. Ontl Citizenship Award, and the Honor Student Awards. Each award salutes one aspect of our school environment and the students who are nominated as well as those actually selected for each award are publicly recognized. A full description of the awards process is attached to this letter for your advance information. We ask that you assist us by taking time to review this important information with your son or daughter in the near future. \nEighth Grade Speeches \nIt has been a tradition at Walworth Middle School to allow our eighth graders the opportunity to prepare a speech reflective of his or her Walworth School “experience.” Eighth graders who desire to take advantage of this opportunity write and present their speech to the entire eighth grade class. Following this presentation, the eighth grade class advisors make a group decision on which speeches are to be included during the evening ceremony. Since it is not possible to allow every student to speak during the graduation ceremony, we strive to choose a variety of speech topics and student presenters reflecting the students in the eighth grade class. Parents are reminded that all speeches must be tasteful, respectful, and are subject to advance review and any editing de","cbCaii5jD9KASxka","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaii5jD9KASxka","pdf",276451,6,"English","# Graduation Ceremony Date and Arrival\n## Graduation Reception Timing\n# Graduation Attire Expectations\n# Graduation Extras (Flowers)\n# School Fees and Fines\n# Photographs and Recording Devices\n# Eighth Grade Awards\n# Eighth Grade Speeches\n## Speech Submission Deadline\n## Speech Selection Criteria\n# 8th Grade Schedule (Friday, June 5)","[{\"question\":\"When and where will the 8th grade graduation ceremony take place in 2026?\",\"answer\":\"The graduation ceremony is on Friday, June 5, at 7:00 P.M., held at Big Foot High School in the auditorium.
