Hodges gave a legislative update regarding the 2023 Virginia General Assembly and other issues affecting the Middle Peninsula, including the following topics:  \n• State Budget status  \n• Broadband funding  \n• Dominion bill to regulate rates  \n• Widening of I-64 between Lightfoot and New Kent  \n• Healthcare (including mental health) employment crisis  \n• Economic Development  \n• Use of dredge spoils as an aggregate product for use on living shorelines  \n• Blue Catfish market  \n• Redistricting issues  \nCouncilmember Hanson asked about workforce housing  \nDel. Hodges responded they were looking at mechanisms to revitalize abandoned homes  \nCouncilmember Sturgill asked about getting more information about the living shoreline initiative  \nDel.
