The Urbandale Public Library Foundation works to ensure that the library has the resources to thrive, and we are proud to share the impact of your support this past year. \nThanks to donors like you, the Foundation funded several meaningful projects in 2024 and 2025: \n• We contributed $250,000 to the library’s interior space redesign project, which will update the Children’s Area with new furniture and play items, while also adding much-needed study rooms to the adult side of the library. \n• We sponsored the StoryWalk book along Walker-Johnston Park’s walking path, encouraging families to enjoy reading and the outdoors together. \n• We funded half the cost to replace the Art Gallery’s hanging system, allowing the library to continue showcasing local art safely and beautifully. \n• We supported the addition of an AmeriCorps member to strengthen the library’s Community Fridge initiative, helping fight food waste and food insecurity in Urbandale. \n• We continued to fund the beloved Summer Reading Program for youth, teens, and adults. In the summer of 2025, hundreds of people attended events and completed reading challenges, building excitement around literacy for all ages. \n• We continued our support for the All Urbandale Reads initiative, the library’s signature community program, which unites residents around one book each year. This year’s selection, The Light Pirate, has already sparked discussion and connection throughout our community. \nThese accomplishments reflect the Foundation’s ongoing mission: to support programs, services, and improvements that make our library a place where everyone feels welcome and inspired. \nThe need for your support is as important as ever. By contributing to the 2025–2026 fundraising campaign, you will ensure that the library grows, adapts, and serves our community with excellence. We invite you to donate to sustain these vital projects and create opportunities in the year to come. Together, we can continue to keep the Urbandale Public Library at the heart of our community. \nWith gratitude, \nJohn Forbes \nPresident, Urbandale Public Library Foundation \nF OUNDATION \nFoundation Members: Caleb Cooper • John Forbes • Al Kaduce • Steve Lytle • Mary Keck • Diana Ripperger \nGreg Robinson • Kerry Vande Kieft • K.
