Our team reflects this diversity. The CRS Egypt country program began in 1956 at the invitation of the Egyptian president Nasser by providing relief assistance to the victims of the Suez War. Over the following few decades, CRS Egypt moved from large-scale food relief to long-term poverty alleviation and development programs. \nCurrently, CRS Egypt has three main programs: education assistance program and livelihoods program for refugee support, and local partnership. Projects under these programs range from the provision of technical assistance and capacity building to partners, promoting peace and tolerance, educational grants for refugees and assistance to refugee community schools, and technical support and start-up funds for refugee and vulnerable Egyptian entrepreneurs. \nThe Education Program serves over 58,000 students yearly facilitating their access to education opportunities in Egypt. The program offers range of services: cash assistance (education grants), in-kind support (school kits), complementary education programs (e.g. remedial classes, bridging classes, language classes, and others), schools support (technically and in-kind), teachers capacity building, and other services. The program works with different refugees nationalities with age range from 3-24 years. The program is funded by multiple donors, each has its requirements to provide education services \nOBJECTIVES \nThis activity is designed to achieve the following objective(s): \n• The Bridging Program targets 20-30 refugee students wishing and have access to enroll in Egyptian primary public schools. The program ’s objective is to prepare and support the students by bridging the gap between their home and Egyptian curricula in the English subject, so they would eventually pass the Ministry of Education’s placement test and qualify them to study the national curriculum in Egyptian public schools. \nACTIVITIES \nThe selected teacher shall complete the following activities to achieve the above objective(s): \n• Conduct placement tests for students and place them in relevant levels according to their test results. \n• Prepare relevant curriculums and detailed lessons plan according to the placement tests results. The curriculum should cover the learning outcomes and required skills for each level. \n• Conduct post exam/ placement test to assess the enrolled students ’ progress during the program. \n• Share the curriculum, detailed lessons plan, placement tests, pre and post tests with CRS to be revised by CRS regional technical advisor, one month before the classes start. Frequent assessments/examinations are conducted to measure the improvement of each student and make sure they are well-placed in their respective competency levels. \n• Teach around 21 hours of instruction of the Englishِ subject for students aged between 8 and 14 years old, an average of three working days per week including weekends, starting from June until October. \n• Teacher is responsible for the supervision and observation of the students throughout the classes. (CRS will only be responsible for communicating with the targeted beneficiaries for the classes dates and timing) . \n• Conduct daily attendance reports for each session. CRS will provide the required attendance template. \n• Deliver the classes in-person and/or virtual (venue provided by CRS) and use interactive teaching methods.
