As your students track, ensure they have opportunities to feel successful. If you notice this process feels discouraging, recalibrate the tracking and/or goals (with the student) to provide more accessible opportunities for them to achieve their goals. Students can track progress in a variety of ways. Below are a few templates that can be used. \nBook Reading \nEach time students read a book they can update their tracker. Two types of tracker templates are shared below. Differentiate students’ trackers according to individual students’ grade, level, and/or need. \nSample Template: Books Read \nThis month is and we’re learning about informational / narrative texts (circle one) . \nMy goal this month is to read at least (number) books. \nTrack your progress! \nEach week, color in a box for each book you read. \n\n| Week | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Total |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| Month’s Total | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n\nSample Template: Types of Books Read \nThis week you will have a chance to read different types of texts.
