The objective is to demonstrate the relationships and data flow between the data entry and reporting templates within the module.
Uses of the Salary Summary
1. Have a starting snapshot of total salary commitments and FTE’s by employee, for current and future years including current, casual and new employees.
2. Review employee details including variations to employment conditions and funding distributions
3. Drill down to analyse and update details of particular employees through the ‘Job Detail’ and ‘GLC Distribution’ buttons.
Refer to the quick reference guides on how to change employee records.
How to: Understand the Salary Summary report-rows
In a relevant GLC you will see any combination of the following rows of data:
Table 1 – Salary Summary-rows

| Employee Category | Employees Included |
| --- | --- |
| Current Employees | All permanent, fixed term and casual employees that were on the payroll from the beginning of the current year only:
Note:
• Employees that were terminated last year, but have received payments in the current year will be visible
• Casual employees are identified as those without a 0.00 value in the “Contract FTE” column. |
| New Employees | New employees you have created using the “New Employees” template Note:
• You may need to re-forecast these in line with every HR Actuals update to avoid duplicating the salary $’s with the actual employees. |
| Casual Employees | Casual employees you have created using the “Casual Employees” template.
Note:
• These are forecasted and budgeted by employee type, however, the actuals will be displayed in the “Current Employees” section (above) by person and identified as having a 0.00 “Contract FTE”.
• You may need to re-forecast these in line with every HR Actuals update to avoid duplicating the salary $’s with the actual employees. |
| Undefined Employees | These values are generated from ES Financials (not HRMS) and can relate to:
• Salary accrual reversals from the prior year
• Salary journal transfers
Note:
• To avoid/ minimise the quantum value of this line, ensure that any ES Salary Transfer journals are broken up by individual employee and that their UID is included in the journal line reference.
• ES will match any UID specified in the journal back to the relevant employee and the salary values will appear against the employee record rather than in this line. |

How to: Understand the Salary Summary report-columns
Columns explained
The following table describes what each field represents
Table 2 – Salary Summary-columns

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Employee Name | This lists the current employees in selected GLC. The data feeds from HR. |
| Contract FTE | Represents the FTE per the employee’s contract per the latest HR actuals (effective date relevant for the current period or prior period) |
| GLC % at P6 | Represents the GLC % distribution of employee’s costs per the latest HR actuals (effective date relevant for the current period or prior period) |
| Position Description | Describes the employee’s position per their contract. |
| Position Number | Displays the employee’s position number per their contract. |

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Hire Date | The date the employee commenced their employment at the ANU. |
| End Date | Displays when the particular transaction will end, whether that be, a change in level, an increase in salary or a termination etc. |
| Expected End Date | Used by HR mostly for Continuing Contingent Funded (CCF) employees who have an expected end date for being funded in a particular GLC. |
| Start of Year Salary Level | This represents the salary level as outlined in the Enterprise Agreement (EA) that the employee began the selected year on. This field can be utilised to forecast beyond the future year budget should this informati","cbCaidp8h1BqkttB","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidp8h1BqkttB","pdf",198222,"English","# Uses of the Salary Summary
# How to: Understand the Salary Summary report-rows
## Employee categories and inclusion rules
# How to: Understand the Salary Summary report-columns
## Columns explained","[{"question":"What is the purpose of the TM1 Salary Summary Template?","answer":"It demonstrates the relationships and data flow between data entry and reporting templates within the TM1 module."},{"question":"Which employee categories appear in the Salary Summary report rows?","answer":"The report can include Current Employees, New Employees, Casual Employees, and Undefined Employees, based on the definitions and data feeds described."},{"question":"What do the key Salary Summary columns represent?","answer":"Columns cover employee identity, contract FTE, GLC percentage distribution, position details, hire/end dates, expected end dates, start/end of year salary levels, calculated FTE, total salary components, on-cost breakdowns, and free-text comments."}]","TM1 Quick Reference Guide - Salary Summary Template - How to Understand the Salary Summary report rows and columns | PDF",1790073916]
