Moreover, the setting of refugee women’s non-formal education in Greece is examined, along with the barriers they face. Some existing material is also examined, that could potentially be proposed for the participants of this study. \nThe methodology part explains the tools employed for this qualitative case study, which were: observation, questionnaires, an interview, documents and tool 25 from the council of Europe’stoolkit. The tools were thematically analyzed to lead to the design of the researcher’s proposed material, which is based on the task-based approach. Lesson plans are provided in the body of the thesis and the corresponding handouts are exhibited in the Appendix. \nKey words \nNeeds analysis, refugee women’s education, barriers, material development \nPostgraduate Dissertation iv \n“Theodora Ygeionomaki”, “Needs analysis and material design for refugee women in a non-formal educational setting” \nΠερίληψη \nΗ παρούσα έρευνα μελετά τις ανάγκες μιας ομάδας προσφύγων γυναικών, οι οποίεςπαρακολουθούνε μαθήματα Αγγλικής σε ανεπίσημο εκπαιδευτικό περιβάλλον στη ΒόρειαΕλλάδα και διαμένουν στο τοπικό κέντρο υποδοχής .
