Try out this lovely, touching and basic wedding toast template. Just fill in the blanks or use it as inspiration foryour own version.
I want to thank each of you for sharing this special day with my wife. Gee, I like the sound of that. I think I’ll say it again – with my wife and myself.
There so many other things you could be doing today, so we’re glad you chose to spend it with us on this most special of days.
Thank you – on behalf of me – and my wife!
You’ve heard the saying that it takes a village to raise a child but, as I’ve discovered over the past <insert timeframe here> months, it also takes a bit ofa village to make a wedding happen. And I’m not just talking about the wedding day itself, but about everything that went into getting us here.
I’m talking about all the events and people who were there for us as our relationship began and grew. Then there was the engagement and now today, here we are standing in front of you all as husband and wife. Wow, I really do like the sound of that!
So, I ask you to indulge me as I thank some people who have made all of this possible. I’ll do my best to keep it brief…kind of!
One of the things I realized as our wedding day got closer, is that, not only will I leave here today with a new wife, I’ll leave here today with a whole new family, too. And that’s a wonderful, wonderful thing.
To my wife’s family, <instead of saying “my wife’s family”, a better option is to name her parents, siblings and other important family members> , thank you for welcoming me into your family. I promise that I will do everything in my power to be the kind of husband you’ve always wanted for <insert your wife’s name in here> .
Mum and Dad, what can I say but thank you? Without the two of you, I couldn’t have been standing here as the man I am today – and I certainly would be as happy as I am today had it not been foryour many years of love and support and advice and, the older I grow, friendship. Beyond bringing me into this world, you’ve moulded me into the person I am today. It sounds clichéd, but it’s absolutely true. You taught me to be the kind of man who could win the heart of such a good and wonderful woman. I am proud to be your son and I love you more than these three words can possibly express.
There are so many other people who have meant so much to <insert bride’s name> and me. Some of them were in our lives before we met each other and some we’ve met along the way, as a couple.
<You could mention some of them here or just say “There are so many of you to thank that we’d be here all night if I did, but suffice it to say that each of you will always be very, very special of ‘us’. Thank you.> .
There are also several people who stood with us today as we took our vows, and I want to ensure you all know them. <Here, introduce each of the groomsmen and the ring bearer. If the bride doesn’t give her own speech, introduce the bridesmaids, too.>
And the best man, of course, is <insert name of best man>. I chose <insert name of best man> tobe my best man because…<Tell your guests why you chose him to be your best man and what he means to you. This is where you can share an entertaining story about the best man, if you have one you can share.>
I have one last person to thank, and that is my beautiful bride Mrs <insert first name here> <insert her new last name here> . I really like the sound of that!
<Be sure to look at your new bride when you are delivering this portion of your speech. Don’tbe scared. Enjoy it.>
I feel so blessed and so privileged that you agreed to marry me.
<Here you can share a special story about the bride or tell her in front of everyone all the things you love about her.>
You have already changed my life in so many wonderful ways and I know that it’s just going to get better from here.
