Through marriage a new family is formed where children may be born \nand grow in secure and loving care. \nMarriage is therefore to be honoured by all. \nNo one should enter it lightly or selfishly, \nbut responsibly and joyfully, \nwith mutual respect and the promise to be faithful. \nSo let us pray with N and N: \n3 One of the following prayers is used. \nBlessed are you, loving God, \nyour Spirit binds us together. \nCrown our lives with your goodness; \nsustain us all our days with your love. \nBless N and N with wisdom and pleasure. \nBe their friend and companion in joy, \ntheir comfort in need and in sorrow. \nAnd when this life is ended \nwelcome them into your presence, \nthere with all your people \nto praise your holy name: \nBlessed be God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, \nas in the beginning, so now and forever. Amen. \nor \nGod of tenderness and strength, \nyou have brought their paths together \nand led them to this day; \ngo with them now as they travel through good times, \nthrough trouble, and through change. \nBless their home, their partings and their meetings. \nMake them worthy of each another’s best, \nand tender with each another’s dreams. Amen. \nor \nGod our Father, \nyou have taught us through your Son \nthat love is the fulfilling of the law; \ngrant to your servants N and N \nthat, loving one another, \nthey may continue in your love \nuntil their lives’ end: \nthrough Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. \nTHE MINISTRY OF THE WORD \n4 One or more Readings from the Scriptures. When the Holy Communion is to follow, there are at least two readings of which the final one is the Gospel. \nAfter each reading the reader may say \nHear the word of the Lord, \nthanks be to God. \nA psalm, canticle, hymn, anthem or period of silence may follow the readings. \n5 When the Gospel is read, the congregation stands and the reading is preceded by these words \nThe Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to … \nand there may be said \nGlory to you, Lord Jesus Christ. \nAfter the Gospel the reader may say \nThis is the Gospel of the Lord, \nor [For] the word of the Lord, \npraise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. \n6 An address appropriate to the occasion is delivered. \nA hymn or song and other readings consistent with Christian teaching and the theme of the service may also be used. \nAFFIRMATIONS \n7a The minister asks the husband: \nN, you have taken N as your wife, \nto live together in the covenant of marriage. \nYou come in faith before God and this congregation: do you now acknowledge your pledge of love and loyalty and ask for God’s blessing? \nI do. \nI therefore ask you: \nWill you love her, comfort her, \nhonour and protect her, \nand, forsaking all others, be faithful to her, \nas long as you both shall live? \nI will. \n7b The minister asks the wi","cbCaifpduumFiS2J","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaifpduumFiS2J","pdf",119092,9,"English","# WELCOME\n## Opening greeting and marriage celebration\n# One of the Prayers\n# THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD\n## Readings and psalm/canticle/hymn\n## Gospel proclamation\n## Address\n# AFFIRMATIONS\n## Questions to the husband and wife\n## Alternative couple responses\n# Ring Rites\n## Rings given at the time of marriage\n## Rings given here\n# THE BLESSING OF THE MARRIAGE","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the service described in the text?\",\"answer\":\"It provides a way for a couple whose wedding was a civil service to receive a marriage blessing in the name of God, the holy Trinity.\"},{\"question\":\"What happens during “THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD”?\",\"answer\":\"Scripture readings are offered, with a final reading as the Gospel when communion follows, and the congregation stands for the Gospel proclamation.
