To that end, we incorporate into our own projects the same principles of project management that we expect to find on the projects for which we perform IV&V services. This includes, coordinating the work of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with the prime contractor if any, sub-contractors, functional or business clients and Information Technology Services. \nThe principles that will guide the IV&V team are: \n􀂃 To maintain independence and integrity \n􀂃 Have a “No Surprise” policy, where issues are discussed prior to appearing officially in the IV&V report \n􀂃 To work with the vendor teams, business owners and Information technology staff \n􀂃 To work in making the project successful \n􀂃 To give advice/recommendation, not direction \n􀂃 To be cognizant of staff time, and engage them only when required \n􀂃 That all our risks, and recommendations are supported by findings \nOur proposed approach to IV&V work is based on industry best practices and standards that we identify in our Methodology. We will successfully provide these services by leveraging best practices and our experience providing IV&V services on projects which span multiple states, government entities, commercial clients, vendors and multimillion dollar projects from coast to coast. Our team member ’s IV&V services have been utilized on projects involving up to 30,000 end users, up to 50 vendors and multiple projects for large and complex state government entities. \nWork Plan \nAs an IV&V contractor, our focus is on both the artifacts and deliverables being produced during the life cycle of a project as well as the processes being used to implement the system. During the course of each individual periodic period, we repeat a series of steps that lead us to evaluate the risks and issues being faced by the project, quality measurements, and the health of the project. Depending on the timing and the focus of the review, different task items will be examined; however, the process that we follow remains largely the same to help ensure completeness and consistency. \nStep 1: Conduct IV&VKickoff Meeting (one time activity) \nTo facilitate understanding of the overall project scope and roles for all parties, at the onset of the project the IV&V team will conduct a kickoff meeting. The business owners, clients, state project managers, key stakeholders and the vendor’s project managers will be invited to the kickoff meeting. These project managers may invite others. The kickoff meeting begins the ongoing, collaborative working style with the project team. \nIn the kickoff meeting, IV&V will outline its interaction with the vendor, client business owners and project staff, discuss work products, goals of the IV&V engagement, how IV&V will operate, and discuss the IV&V processes. \nStep 2: Select/Update Appropriate Checklists and Identify Process \nTech Valley Talent maintains an extensive library of IV&V checklists that have been refined through our years of performing IV&V services. For each work product, the appropriate and relevant checklist item is selected and used for assessment.
