In preparation for the 2-day Capacity Building Workshop on Hydrographic Governance on 20-21 February 2023, I would be grateful if you would complete a high-level Hydrographic Governance gap analysis for your coastal State, to come prepared to contribute and discuss this at the workshop. The gap analysis will provide foundational data relating to the status of National Interest, National Arrangements, and External Coordination, specifically: \na. Where are we now? \nb. What is the gap? \nc. What actions are required to close the gap? \nBreakout sessions during the workshop will afford coastal States the opportunity to discuss their status and gaps to develop Action Plans in conjunction with representatives from their (and/or other) Primary Charting Authority and the IHO Secretariat. \nIn conducting this gap analysis, I encourage you to review IHO publication M-2 “The Need for National Hydrographic Services”(Version 3.0.7, June 2018) and the SWPHC PICT CB Matrix. \nPlease complete the gap analysis in the template provided (Annex B) and send to \nSWPHC@linz.govt. nz by 9 February 2023. Please contact Matt Borbash, SPWHC CB Coordinator if you require further guidance. We encourage you to seek assistance from your Primary Charting Authority in completing this template. \nNote that the participants of the SWPHC Hydrographic Leaders Programme have recently completed instruction in hydrographic governance and are well placed to assist in this task. \n2. Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a safe and relaxing holiday as we approach the festive season; we look forward to seeing you in-person at the workshop and SWPHC20 . \nYours sincerely, \nAdam Greenland, \nToitū Te Whenua LINZ, New Zealand National Hydrographer SWPHC Chair \nEnclosures: \nAnnex A – Distribution List: Members, Associate Members and Observer States of the SWPHC Annex B – SWPHC Hydrographic Governance Gap Analysis template (Word)","cbCaidkhH6zf1qVi","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidkhH6zf1qVi","pdf",197320,"English","# SWPHC Circular Letter 05/2022\n## Workshop invitation and preparation\n## Scope of the hydrographic governance gap analysis\n## Breakout sessions and action planning\n## Required references and submission instructions\n## Closing remarks and enclosures","[{\"question\":\"Who is requested to complete the Hydrographic Governance gap analysis?\",\"answer\":\"Members, Associate Members, and Observer States of the SWPHC are requested to complete a high-level gap analysis for their coastal State.\"},{\"question\":\"What topics must the gap analysis cover?\",\"answer\":\"It should provide foundational data on the status of National Interest, National Arrangements, and External Coordination, answering where they are now, what the gaps are, and what actions are required to close the gaps.\"},{\"question\":\"When and how should the completed gap analysis template be submitted?\",\"answer\":\"The gap analysis should be completed using the template in Annex B and sent to SWPHC@linz.govt.nz by 9 February 2023.\"}]","SWPHC 2-day Capacity Building Workshop on Hydrographic Governance - Circular Letter 05/2022 - 21 December 2022 | PDF",1789239893]
