part of Building Strong Foundations (BSF) -a joint project of CMHA Ontario and the Federation, funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Designed to strengthen the governance and administrative foundations of Ontario’s mental health and addictions agencies, BSF offers a comprehensive suite of learning tools and resources on such subjects as: \n¾ Human Resource Development \n¾ Organizational Policies and Procedures \n¾ Governance \n¾ Strategic Planning \nThe Purpose \nThe purpose of this toolkit is to help agencies develop a good strategic plan. Intended for those who have never done a strategic plan, or those who do not have a formal planning process in place, it can be used as an educational resource to help Board and staff better understand why and how to do strategic planning, and then guide the planning team through the process. The toolkit will: \n¾ build the leadership teams’ confidence about their capacity to create an effective strategic plan \n¾ demonstrate how the process can be designed to ensure that it is a helpful navigational tool for decision-making \n¾ increase understanding about each of the components of the strategic plan and how they work together \n¾ provide easy-to-use steps and checklists to help complete each of the components \nStrategic Planning Toolkit \nHow to Use the Toolkit \n1.
