The AER addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school’s report contains information about accountability, student assessment, and teacher quality. If you have any questions about the AER, please contact Chris Kregel, high school principal, for assistance. \nThe AER is available for you to review electronically by visiting the following website: [https://bit.ly/4au4md2](https://bit.ly/4au4md2) , or you may review a copy in the main office at your child’s school. \nFor the 2025-26 school year, schools were identified based on previous years’performance using definitions and labels as required in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) . A Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) school is one that had at least one underperforming student group in 2024-25. An Additional Targeted Support (ATS) school is one that had at least one student group performing at the same level as the lowest 5% of all schools in the state in 2021-22. A Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) school is one whose performance was in the lowest 5% of all schools in the state, had a graduation rate at or below 67%, failed to exit CSI status in 2024-25, or failed to exit ATS status in 2021-22. Some schools are not identified with any of these labels. In these cases, no status label is given. \nSpringport High School was not identified as a school in need of targeted support by the state. \nSome of the key challenges with student attendance and chronic absenteeism continue to be a roadblock for learning. This is even more evident in our at-risk population. As a part of our Early Warning Indicator system, our Tier 2 and 3 team tracks not only chronic absenteeism (students missing 10% or more of schooldays), but also students with ISS/OSS and students with any failing grades. The Tier 2 and 3 team consists of school administrators, counselors, special education teachers, GAP coordinator as well as our county special education consultant. This team meets monthly to evaluate every student in need of extra support evident by their Early Warning Indicators or teacher referral. Individualized plans are created to address attendance, academic performance, disciplinary issues as well as extra social-emotional support. \nSpringport high school continues to have challenges with increased social-emotional issues as well as economic instability for families. We continue to combat these issues with our PBIS system, integrated social-emotional learning, and the use of RAHS (Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools) . \nSpringport students have advanced educational opportunities through Advanced Placement offerings, JCEC, Dual Enrollment and the Jac3 program. An after school tutoring program is offered every Tuesday and Thursday free of charge. SHS offers an online learning option for in-person learners as well as students that are fully virtual off campus. Summer school and credit recovery is offered to all students through Edmentum/E2020 . \nSpringport schools supports the use of the College Bord Suite of Assessments in grades 8-11. Our staff uses PSAT/SAT data as well as local assessment data to not only pinpoint learning gaps, but also to identify students who are prepared for AP and/or dual enrollment courses. \nState law requires that we also report additional information. \n1. Since Springport High School is the only high school in the district, all students in grades 9-12 in the district attend Springport High School. \n2. The School Improvement Plan is revised annually based on the data although the main strategies remain somewhat consistent. The plan is submitted to the district for approval and to ensure the District Improvement Plan incorporat","cbCaikwgePeea3GK","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikwgePeea3GK","pdf",116405,"English","# Annual Education Report (AER) Overview\n## Accountability, assessment, and teacher quality\n## ESSA identification labels and Springport status\n# Student Support and Challenges\n## Attendance, chronic absenteeism, and early warning system\n## Tier 2/3 team and individualized plans\n## PBIS, social-emotional learning, and RAHS\n# Academic Opportunities and Programs\n## AP, dual enrollment, JCEC, Jac3, tutoring\n## Online learning, summer school, and credit recovery\n## Assessment data and benchmark reporting\n# Additional Required Information\n## District/student enrollment structure\n## School Improvement Plan monitoring\n## Core curriculum implementation and updates\n## Dual enrollment and AP participation statistics","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the Annual Education Report (AER) for 2024-25?\",\"answer\":\"The AER provides key information about Springport High School’s 2024-25 educational progress and fulfills federal and state reporting requirements, including accountability, student assessment, and teacher quality.\"},{\"question\":\"How does Springport High School respond to attendance and chronic absenteeism concerns?\",\"answer\":\"The Tier 2 and 3 team tracks chronic absenteeism and other early warning indicators such as ISS/OSS and failing grades, then creates individualized plans addressing attendance, academics, discipline, and additional social-emotional support.\"},{\"question\":\"What student learning opportunities does Springport High School offer beyond core classes?\",\"answer\":\"Students can access Advanced Placement options, dual enrollment (including JCEC), the Jac3 program, free after-school tutoring, an online learning option for in-person and fully virtual students off campus, and summer school/credit recovery through Edmentum/E2020.\"}]","Springport High School Annual Education Report (AER) 2024-25 - Cover Letter | PDF",1789278714]
