The workflow covers indexability and crawlability of important pages, verifying that search engines can render the page content, and identifying critical technical errors through Ahrefs Site Audit filtering. Finding content issues \n Has your site's traffic remained stable during recent Google updates? \n Have any specific pages lost significant traffic recently? \n Have you got any old pages with low traffic? \n Have you got any low-hanging fruit keywords? \n Have you got any low-hanging featured snippet opportunities? \n Have you got any content gaps with competitors? Finding link issues \n Have you got any dead pages with backlinks you could redirect? \n Could you boost any pages with internal links? \n Do your competitors have any easily replicable backlinks? \nBEFORE YOU START \nSet up a free Ahrefs Webmaster Tools (AWT) account and start crawling your website. When setting up your project, make sure to tick the \"Backlinks\" option under \"Crawl settings.\" This is important for one of the checks in the audit. \nTechnical issues \n Are all important pages indexable? \nPages can't show up in Google unless they're indexed, so all important pages must be indexable. You can check this with a free Ahrefs Webmaster Tools (AWT) account. \n1. Crawl your website with Site Audit \n2. Go to Page Explorer \n3. Filter for Noindex pages \n4. Eyeball the list for pages that should be indexed \nRemove the noindex directive from any pages that should be indexed. \nTIP 􀂏 \nIf there are too many pages to reasonably look through, filter for only URLs in the sitemap. \nIf you're still seeing URLs in the filtered report, something is definitely wrong. Either you actually meant to noindex them (in which case, they shouldn't be in the sitemap) , or they should be indexed and you need to remove the noindex directive. \n Are all important pages crawlable? \nGoogle rarely indexes pages it can't crawl, so you need to make sure that all important pages on your website are crawlable. You can do this in Google Search Console. \n1. Go to Indexing > Pages \n2. Click the \"Blocked by robots.txt\" issue \n3. Make sure no important pages that you want to rank are listed here \nTIP 􀂏 \nThere's often lots of clutter in this report, like URLs with parameters (e.g. , [domain.com/search?=](domain.com/search?=)) . You'll want to filter these out to make it easier to spot important pages. \nFor example, if we filter out URLs with the ? parameter, we see no results. \nIf you see important pages that should be crawlable, you'll need to remove or edit the rule causing this in your robots.txt file. You can use Google's robots.txt tester to find the affecting rule. \nIt's also best practice to make sure all important pages are internally linked so Google can find them. You can do this with Ahrefs' Site Audit. Just go to the Links report >\" Issues\" > look for the \"Orphan page (has no incoming internal links)\" issue. \nIf any important pages are orphaned, add internal links to them. \n Can Google actually see the content on all important pages? \nNOTE 􀃋 \nYou likely don't need to worry about this unless your site runs on a JavaScript framework. \nGoogle can't index content it can't see. If you're concerned about this, a quick check you can do is to search for a snippet of your content in Google inside quotation marks. If the page is returned, your content was likely seen. \nIf the page isn't returned, read Patrick's guide to JavaScript SEO to learn how to fix it. \n Is your site free of other critical technical issues? \nSites can face all kinds of technical issues, but most aren't that important and \"fixing\"them won't really move the needle. You can find the most pressing issues to fix by filtering the All issues report in Site Audit for \"errors.\" \nIf you're unsure how to deal with any of them, click the \"?\" next to each issue to see a descrip","cbCaibDYSXx4wriF","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibDYSXx4wriF","pdf",4076898,22,"English","# SEO Audit Template\n## Finding technical issues\n### Finding content issues\n### Finding link issues\n## Before you start\n## Technical issues\n## Content issues\n## Link issues","[{\"question\":\"What three areas does the SEO audit checklist focus on?\",\"answer\":\"It focuses on technical, content, and link issues across the website.\"},{\"question\":\"How do you check whether important pages are indexable?\",\"answer\":\"Use Ahrefs Webmaster Tools (AWT) to crawl the site, then filter for Noindex pages and remove the noindex directive from pages that should be indexed.\"},{\"question\":\"What should you do if important pages are blocked from crawling?\",\"answer\":\"Use Google Search Console to review pages blocked by robots.txt, then remove or edit the robots.txt rule causing the block so those important pages can be crawled.\"}]","SEO Audit Template - Ahrefs | PDF",1789264305,8,{"code":4,"msg":82,"data":100},[101,104,109,114,119,124,128,133,138],{"id":86,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":29,"show_sort_weight":102,"slug":103},90,"presentations",{"id":105,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":106,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":108},12,"Resumes",80,"resumes",{"id":110,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":111,"show_sort_weight":112,"slug":113},14,"Invoices",70,"invoices",{"id":115,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":116,"show_sort_weight":117,"slug":118},15,"Posters",60,"posters",{"id":120,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":122,"slug":123},16,"Social Media",50,"social-media",{"id":55,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":125,"show_sort_weight":126,"slug":127},"Forms",40,"forms",{"id":129,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":130,"show_sort_weight":131,"slug":132},18,"Letters",30,"letters",{"id":134,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":135,"show_sort_weight":136,"slug":137},21,"Paper Templates",5,"papers-templates",{"id":139,"doc_module":22,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":140,"show_sort_weight":4,"slug":141},158,"General","general-158"]
