This must be done in an efficient manner.  \nThe Senior Clinical Engineering Technician works directly with service users and with experienced clinical staff in the delivery of the special seating service. The Senior Clinical Engineering Technician uses their clinical knowledge and understanding to partner with a clinician in the delivery of custom seating assessment, fitting and equipment-handover, all of which form part of the service intervention offered by SeatTech. While some duties maybe shared, the clinician ultimately carries responsibility for the clinical integrity of the seating solution while the Senior Clinical Engineering Technician carries responsibility for the manufacture and technical integrity of same.  \nThe key priority for every member of the team is to deliver the best custom seating solution to meet each individual service user’s needs in a timely manner. The Senior Clinical Engineering Technician works in a proactive manner to ensure that his/her productivity matches agreed targets, so that agreed deadlines are met and high-quality SeatTech products are delivered in a timely manner.  \nDuties  \nThe role of every member of the SeatTech team is to work in partnership with service users and their team to provide them with the best possible bespoke wheelchair seating and positioning solutions that are designed to meet the service user’s individual needs.  \nThe role of the Senior Clinical Engineering Technician is to provide clinical engineering technical support, undertaking whatever tasks are relevant and necessary to ensure that service users receive the most appropriate equipment in the most efficient manner.  \nWhile product manufacture will take up the largest proportion of a Senior Clinical Engineering Technician’s time, their role is diverse, and s/he plays a critical role in the smooth running of many aspects of the special seating service.  \nDuties include, but are not limited to:  \n􀁸 Participation in clinical interventions  \n􀁸 Product selection and recommendation  \n􀁸 Product design  \n􀁸 Product manufacture  \n􀁸 Quality management  \n􀁸 Research and development  \n􀁸 Stock management  \n􀁸 Repairs to products  \n􀁸 Custom moulded seating  \n􀁸 Other duties as may arise  \nParticipation in clinical interventions  \nThe Senior Clinical Engineering Technician will work in partnership with experienced clinicians in the delivery of:  \n􀁸 Assessment,  \n􀁸 Fitting, and  \n􀁸 Issue appointments  \nEach of the above forms part of an episode of care for wheelchair users with complex seating requirements, who require adaptations to their new or existing manual or powered wheelchairs and other assistive devices. The Senior Clinical Engineering Technician will actively participate in postural, mobility and risk-assessments of wheelchair users, and in the translation of the outcomes of same into mechanical design specifications. Clinical interventions may take place on-site in Sandymount or off-site at outreach clinics located elsewhere throughout the country.  \nProduct Manufacture  \nThe Senior Clinical Engineering Technician will manufacture high-quality medical devices and components for use as wheelchair special seating supports.  \nThe work to be undertaken will be agreed in partnership with the clinician assigned to the case.
