We have 443 children in our 15 classes (including our Nursery class) . We are part of the Assisi Catholic Trust. \nWhat is SEND? \nA child has SEND if they have a learning difficulty or disability that we need to make special provision for. \nSome key terms explained: \n• Learning Difficulty: when a child finds it harder to learn than most children do. \n• Disability (that we need to make special provision for): something that hindersa child from using our school facilities. \n• Special provision: is support that is extra or different to what is typically provided. \nWhat are our Values? \nEvery child with SEND can thrive. We do all that we can to make sure that happens. \nThat means we: \n• provide lessons that meet the needs of every child; \n• make reasonable adjustments to lessons and our school environment; \n• provide staff training to expand our SEND expertise. \nWhat are our ambitions for children who have SEND? \nWe are ambitious for all children with SEND. We want them to make excellent progress. This means they will know more, remember more and be able to do more, despite their SEND. \nWe want to give them the knowledge and skills they need for adult life. We think about both long term and short term. In the long term, we want our children with SEND to: \n• have excellent basic skills (especially in reading, writing and maths) \n• have good friends and relationships \n• live a healthy and independent life \n• be successful in work \n• be a part of our local and Catholic community \nWhat are the types of SEND? \nThe four categories of SEND \nSchools follow the guidelines from the government’s SEND Code of Practice, where SEND is broken up into four categories: \n1. Cognition and Learning (C&L), including: \no Learning difficulties; \no Dyslexia & dyscalculia; \no Focus, attent","cbCaicageVo5xIyL","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaicageVo5xIyL","pdf",1716951,25,"English","# What is SEND?\n## Our Ambitions\n# Types of SEND\n# Identification of SEND\n# How we meet Children’s Needs\n# Assess, Plan, Do, Review\n# Targets\n# The Role of Parents Support for Parents\n# The Role of Children\n# Our Team: Who’s Who\n# Staff Training\n# Specialist Help\n# When Children Join or Leave\n# Our Buildings and Equipment for SEND Children\n# Your Questions Answered\n# Looked After Children\n## Complaints, Exclusions, SEND Laws and Monitoring","[{\"question\":\"What does the school mean by SEND?\",\"answer\":\"A child has SEND if they have a learning difficulty or disability that requires special provision.
