A blind SQL injection was found in the login function, enabling unauthorized access and manipulation of user and product data, potentially impacting over 1,000 shop users. Additional findings include subdomain takeover risk, reflected cross-site scripting enabling session theft, outdated Tomcat exposure, missing CSRF protection, insecure SSL/TLS settings, and inconsistent security headers. Recommended remediation actions cover short- and medium-term controls such as prepared statements, DNS validation, encryption, and stronger header, input, and request protections.",{"@graph":14,"@context":66},[15,34,49],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/","Template",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/letters/","Letters",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/security-assessment-version-10-management-summary-identified-weaknesses/573292/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"author":36,"headline":10,"publisher":39,"fileFormat":42,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":43,"datePublished":43,"encodingFormat":42,"isAccessibleForFree":44,"interactionStatistic":45},"DigitalDocument",{"name":37,"@type":38},"RuangKosong","Person",{"url":19,"name":40,"@type":41},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-14",true,{"@type":46,"interactionType":47,"userInteractionCount":4},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":48},"ViewAction",{"@type":50,"mainEntity":51},"FAQPage",[52,58,62],{"name":53,"@type":54,"acceptedAnswer":55},"What More detailed descriptions of the individual specific aspects with references to additional resources as well as recommended countermeasures can be found in chapter 5 . \n2.1 Results \nA blind SQL injection vulnerability was detected in the login function of the webshop, which allowed unauthorized users to access, modify or delete user and product data stored in the database. This vulnerability could be used to compromise the data of over 1,000 shop users, including sensitive or personally identifiable information like addresses and password hashes. \nThe subdomain takeover.example.com had a CNAME set [to](to exampletrafficmanager.trafficmanager.net)[ exampletrafficmanager.trafficmanager.net](to exampletrafficmanager.trafficmanager.net) at the time of the assessment, which was not allocated, and could therefore be registered via Microsoft Azure. This means that the subdomain takeover .example .com could fall under the control of attackers and be used for further attacks, like phishing campaigns. \nA reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability was identified where malicious JavaScript code could be injected into the application. Attackers would be able to steal session information by successfully exploiting this vulnerability and use it to take over other users’ acc","cbCaijRK8dgHkKnK","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijRK8dgHkKnK","pdf",579403,38,"English","# Management Summary\n## Results\n## Recommended next steps\n# Scope\n## Systems tested\n## User accounts used\n# Procedure\n## Risk assessment according to CVSSv3\n# Identified weaknesses\n## Blind SQL Injection\n## Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)\n## Subdomain Takeover\n## Reflected Cross-Site-Scripting (XSS)\n## Outdated Tomcat Installation\n## Missing Security Headers\n## Weak SSL/TLS Configuration\n# Appendix\n## Contact persons\n## CVSS v3.0 metrics\n## Text representation of CVSS v3.0 scores\n## List of Tables\n## List of Figures\n## OWASP Testing Guide Version 4.2\n# Imprint","[{\"question\":\"What was the most critical vulnerability identified in the report?\",\"answer\":\"A blind SQL injection vulnerability was detected in the webshop login function, allowing unauthorized users to access, modify, or delete user and product data in the database.\"},{\"question\":\"How could the reflected XSS vulnerability be abused?\",\"answer\":\"Malicious JavaScript could be injected into the application, enabling attackers to steal session information and use it to take over other users’ accounts.\"},{\"question\":\"What security gaps were found related to web request and transport protection?\",\"answer\":\"The report found missing CSRF protection for profile editing and insecure SSL/TLS configurations, which could allow decryption of transmitted packets and inconsistent security header implementation.\"}]","Security-Assessment - Version 1.0 - Management Summary & Identified Weaknesses | PDF",13]
