The RCPP’s purpose is to provide one-time funding to current Nation services to provide prevention, education, and/or intervention projects to address gang activities and high-risk lifestyles among our youth [under 29 years old]. \nProjects must amplify and/or build upon the current programming and resources available on-Nation. We want to support you in furthering the impact of your existing programming. Support may include funding, program development, capacity building, and sustainability planning. Collaborative proposals amongst community partners are welcomed and encouraged. \nCommunity Partners may apply for up to $13,500/project in funding. \nAwards will be distributed across 4 funding seasons; each season will prioritize projects that center the respective themes as outlined in Figure 1. Projects and project funding amounts [partial or full funding] will be determined on a seasonal basis as shown in Figure 1. \nFigure 1 \nRCPP Timeline \nFUNDING THEMES \n1. Culture \nUnderstanding the role Culture has in the wellness and healing of Indigenous communities will begin RK7’s next phase. Although all funding seasons want to prioritize culturally relevant projects, we need to ensure the Tsuut’ina Culture is our foundation. Cultural focused projects may include but are not limited to: language revitalization, land-based healing and/or land-based skills building, traditional and cultural activities, and \nceremony. \n2. Education & Awareness \nEducation and awareness within RKeepers7 aims to increase community knowledge on critical issues related to gang activities and criminal lifestyles. These areas include human trafficking, drug trafficking, and mental health/addiction. We know the cultural relevance of including the youths’ families and extended community in our initiatives, therefore activities that reach beyond youth (29 years old & younger) will be considered. Projects with a prevention focus may include the children in the community as we invest in long-term healing and wellness into future generations. \nEducation projects may also address the risk factors in youth that are often associated with gang involvement. Education & Awareness focused projects might include but are not limited to: age appropriate teachings and content that increase knowledge of consent and body autonomy; relationship and conflict resolution skills; building Emotional Intelligence & regulation skills for our children and youth. \n3. Empowerment \nEmpowerment will focus on projects that create opportunities for our youth to build confidence and skills, and practice reciprocity within the Tsuut’ina community.
