They will be best arranged in ascending order (least important to most important). Of course, all of the points must be important; it’s just a matter of degree.\n*This template may be adjusted to fit your needs. If you need to add extra details, just add them.\n**Your final outline must be word-processed. It must be double-spaced in Times New Roman 12-point font.\nYou must include the sources that you are using in parentheses\n***It must be observed and graded by Mrs. Leyendecker in order to proceed.\nI have included spaces for your:\n1) working title – This may change by the time you complete your paper.\n2) thesis statement – this sentence should be a statement, not a question, of what you intend to prove in your\npaper. This statement should attempt to answer your how/why question you posed prior to researching. You may need to revise the thesis statement several times during the course of writing the paper.\n3) the three major points (or more) you plan to make in your research paper. Each of these major points\nshould support the thesis statement.\n4) topic sentences – one for each of your three major points\n5) two details, pieces of information, or evidence from your notes with the sources listed (in parentheses) for\neach of your major points. You will want to continue to provide more as you draft to effectively support\nyour points.\n6) concluding sentence and lead-in for the next paragraph – one for each paragraph. These sentences should\nremind you how you should consistently be communicating to your readers why you’re telling them what\nyou’re telling them.\n7) conclusion for your research paper – You should sum up the different angles presented and then critically evaluate what you understand now and the connections you have created. You must also examine the implications made before finishing with a lead out.\nResearch Paper Template – Due on Tuesday, March 23 – 150 points\nTitle of your research paper: ________________________________________________\nThesis statement: _________________________________________________________\n________________________________________________________________________\nIntroduction\nThe introduction should contain a “hook”, general quote or interesting fact.
