It examines the transformation of wedding visual representation under modernization and media environments transformaron, By selecting Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province as the primary site, where related traditions are well preserved and strongly represented. As a highly symbolized social ritual, weddings support cultural transmission and ethnic identity; however, in contemporary practice, traditional visual elements are often misused or misread, resulting in superficial symbol collage, contextual detachment, and stylistic inconsistency, which undermines the accuracy and integrity of cultural expression. In response, the study proposes three objectives: (1) to construct a system of core wedding visual elements; (2) to translate this system into actionable, rule-based Visual Design Guidelines for the Wedding Culture of Ethnic Koreans in China; and (3) to develop a typographic integration design combining Chinese characters and Korean script to improve information delivery and ritual aesthetic coherence. The research integrates literature review, case analysis, and fieldwork in Yanbian to collect first-hand materials. Guided by semiotics, VIS theory, and color theory, it extracts design principles and establishes a visual design system framework. Based on this framework, the first version of the guidelines is developed through classification and semantic refinement across four dimensions—color, patterns, typography, and wedding items.
