For further information, please consult the project website: www.recon4imd.org\nJob Description:\nThe successful candidate will provide assistance to senior researchers in conducting research activities, including planning, organizing, conducting, and communicating research. The main focus will be on the ‘Reconstruction and Computational Modelling for Inherited Metabolic Diseases’ project, but also on other parallel research projects on similar topics.\nDuties:\nAssist with the management of the Recon4IMD project\nContribute to the development and implementation of new research projects\nDevelop and implement policies and procedures to support the efficient operation of research projects\nAssist with the preparation and submission of research reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals\nCommunicate with internal and external stakeholders, such as funders, collaborators and university support staff\nEnsure that research is conducted in accordance with ethical, legal, open science and University of Galway standards, policies and guidelines\nPerform administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining project files and databases\nAssist with the recruitment and personal development of research staff\nParticipation in national and international consortium meetings\nAny other duties assigned commensurate to this level of post\nQualifications/Skills required:\nEssential Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, pharmacology, cell biology, etc.)\nStrong organizational and time-management skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nProficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and other relevant software applications\nAbility to work collaboratively and independently\nDesirable Requirements:\nFamiliarity with research methods\nPrior research experience\nFamiliarity with website building software, e.g., wix\nAn interest in further development of computational skills\nAn interest in manual curation of the biochemistry literature\nEmployment permit restrictions apply for this category of post\nSalary: Research Assistant salary scale €29,275 - €39,158 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.\nThe default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale.
