The contract conditions have been enhanced including on contract amendment, change in laws, inspections and tests and patent indemnity. A few other editorial enhancements have also been made. \nPreface \nThis Standard Request for Quotations (SRfQ) for Goods has been prepared for use in contracts financed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA) .1 It modifies the Bank’s Standard Request for Bids for Goods document in order to support the procurement of medical consumables and other necessary Goods under COVID-19 Emergency Response Operations. If the procurement includes pharmaceuticals or vaccines, additional technical specifications and other specific provisions will be required, as included in the Bank’s Standard Procurement Documents for such items. \nRecognizing the characteristics of emergency procurement, this streamlined procurement document has relevant features that should enable its use for contract amounts, as agreed with the Bank, that exceed the normal thresholds for Request for Quotations method. \nEven if aspects such as conflict of interest and eligibility of the firms, in accordance with the Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, must be confirmed by Borrowers when deciding to invite a selected few firms to submit quotations, the October 2020 version further reiterates these aspects in the Request for Quotations. \nTo obtain further information on procurement under World Bank funded projects or for question regarding the use of this SPD, contact: \nChief Procurement Officer \nStandards, Procurement and Financial Management Department \nThe World Bank \n1818 H Street, NW \nWashington, D.C. 20433 U.S.A. \n[http://www.worldbank.org](http://www.worldbank.org) \n[e-mail: ](e-mail: Elaurentiis@worldbank.org)[Elaurentiis@worldbank.org](e-mail: Elaurentiis@worldbank.org) \n1 IBRD and IDA are generally called the World Bank.
