Our Juniors and Seniors took a trip to the DSU college and career fair on Tuesday, September 13. While at the DSU campus, our students were introduced to a wide variety of careers and training from four-year colleges, two-year colleges, trade schools, the national guard, cosmetology school, and on the job training options. This experience was a great opportunity to explore future career options. Richardton/Taylor HS students and staff would like to \nthank DSU for hosting this career day. We all really appreciated the experience. Please contact the school for directions on how to set up a single sign-on and one will be sent to you. The directions are particular to each student for privacy reasons and they are not the same for everyone. If you are \nable to get into PowerSchool Parent Portal, then you have already set up your account and there is nothing more you need to do. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact your child ’s school for more information. \nOur 2022 Pee Wee Football season got underway in August, and we have been full speed ahead ever since. After a tough last year with very little participation, we are very fortunate to have almost 30 kids playing this year. We had 4 games on our schedule and all the kids worked hard at each one. Our kids traveled for their first games to Hettinger, Flasher and Belfield and finished our season at home with a jamboree against Lemmon and Hettinger-Scranton. The kids seem genuinely happy with the games and have learned a lot. Before this program started our junior high kids were lacking skills that other teams had because they had an elementary program to get them ready for the next step. This program is very beneficial for the kids to get familiar with the equipment, \nthe drills and how to be safe while playing. In the years since this has begun our kids have made strides of improvements and they are starting the junior high season with 2-3 years of good experience. This program is run on a volunteer basis and it is a nonprofit organization, so I depend on donations to buy equipment and other items we may need. If you would like to help out in any capacity, please reach out. I would like to thank the coaches for all of their hard work! Thomas Fandrich, Chet Johnson and Brent Benson we could not do this without you, and I appreciate all of you!
