It highlights your relevant experience, shows why you will be successful in the role, and gives evidence of what you can contribute. Taking the time to customize your resume for each application to show how your experience relates to a specific role can increase the likelihood of getting an interview. \nKey Differences Between Resume and Curriculum Vitae \nThe terms resume and CV are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference. In Canada, resumes are used to apply for workrelated positions ([e.g. jobs](e.g. jobs), volunteer roles, internships). CV’s are usually used to apply for academic or research-related roles. If you are not sure what type of document is being asked for, look at the position description and/or reach out to the organization for clarification. \n1 Use the role description or position posting as a reference to guide what skills, experience, knowledge, and attributes you highlight on your resume. \n2 Use keywords and phrases from the role description to show you have the experience and qualifications they are seeking and that you have read the description carefully. \n3 Describe your skills and experience concisely. People may review your resume quickly, so it’s important to present your information concisely. \n4 Demonstrate ","cbCaid2XYzyJti2S","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaid2XYzyJti2S","pdf",2465203,27,"English","# About This Guide\n## How to use this guide\n## Icons legend\n# Writing Great Resumes: Key Ideas\n## Key Differences Between Resume and Curriculum Vitae\n# Resume Basics\n## Introduction: Profile, Objective, or Summary of Skills\n## Education\n## Relevant Experience","[{\"question\":\"What is the main purpose of a resume in this guide?\",\"answer\":\"A resume demonstrates the connection between your knowledge, experience, skills, and attributes and the position you are applying for, highlighting relevant experience and evidence of what you can contribute.\"},{\"question\":\"How are resumes different from curriculum vitae (CVs) in Canada?\",\"answer\":\"Resumes are used for work-related roles such as jobs, volunteer roles, and internships, while CVs are typically used for academic or research-related roles.\"},{\"question\":\"What strategies does the guide recommend to improve resume results?\",\"answer\":\"Customize for each application, use keywords from the role description, describe skills and experience concisely with action verbs, avoid templates and abbreviations, and proofread before submitting.\"}]","Queen’s Best Resumes - About This Guide - Writing Great Resumes - Resume Basics | PDF",1789306309]
