Initially established with four departments, Plato Vocational School was subsequently incorporated into Istanbul Ayvansaray University, which was founded by the Ayvansaray Education Foundation. This affiliation was formalized following the enactment of Law No. 6761, approved on November 16, 2016, and published in the Official Gazette No. 29898 on November 24, 2016. Starting from this point, undergraduate programs were introduced, and the Faculties of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Engineering, and Sports Sciences were founded. By 2022, as part of efforts towards internationalization and renewal, the name of Istanbul Ayvansaray University was changed to Istanbul Topkapı University. This change was made through Law No. 7382, which was published in the Official Gazette on March 11, 2022, and the university continues its educational activities under the new name.\nBetween 2009 and 2022, the number of students, academic and administrative staff, campus facilities, and the number of programs grew significantly, and the university went through a constant process of restructuring. In line with its commitment to providing quality education, the university prioritized initiatives to improve quality during this restructuring period, and worked to make the concept of quality an integral part of its institutional culture. Historically, the efforts made up to the stages of control and monitoring have now evolved into a focus on continuous improvement, with the overarching objective of achieving excellence. In this context, the necessary principles have been established. In fact, there are ongoing national initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education, and at Istanbul Topkapı University, these initiatives are implemented within a quality-driven management framework. The Quality Assurance System established for this purpose seeks to ensure that the outcomes of the university's educational, research, community service, and administrative-academic-managerial activities are of high quality, and that this quality is sustained through a process of continuous improvement. To achieve this, university activities must be measurable, comparable, traceable, and sustainable; they must be implemented, monitored, and evaluated in accordance with quality principles.
