The plan explains how to organize teams across Senior, Junior, and Bantam Boys levels, align training from Grade 9 to 12 using a shared curriculum, and maximize limited gym access with open gyms and weight-room sessions. It defines team philosophy and culture, presents key dates, and specifies an LTAD-aligned training breakdown with practical coordination among coaches and athletes.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/","Template",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/presentations/","Presentations",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/practical-high-school-basketball-task-3-independent-study-project/356064/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/practical-high-school-basketball-task-3-independent-study-project/356064.png","ImageObject",442,249,{"name":42,"@type":43},"Terk","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-28","2026-09-23",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",6,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"How does the program organize basketball teams at different age levels?","Question",{"text":63,"@type":64},"The school fields teams at the Senior, Junior, and Bantam Boys levels. Bourgase Program Outline EmWeisl:itceo: awbourgasebourgase ..ccoomm \nA New Way to Organize High School Basketball \nGiven the scarcity of facilities, time and staff supervision, high school athletics needs to be well organized. Basketball can become an integrated way to teach life lessons and academic skills in a sports setting. \nIf one person oversees all of the basketball programs in a school, they can help each coach instruct the same curriculum from Grade 9 to 12. They can work from the same series of drills and gradually develop the skills that student \nathletes will need for Senior Boys Basketball. \nThe school should field teams at the Senior, Junior and Bantam Boys levels. This will enable more students to participate in sport, keep physically fit and forge meaningful social connections. The Yearly Planning Instrument (Appendix A) will inform the schedule for each team according to Canada Basketball’s \nrecommendations for Long-Term Athlete Development \n([www.basketball.ca/files/LTAD.pdf](www.basketball.ca/files/LTAD.pdf) ): \n\n| | Senior Boys | Junior Boys | Bantam Boys |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| L.T.A. D. Stage | Train to Compete | Train to Train (II) | Train to Train (I) |\n| Fundamentals | 20% | 25% | 30% |\n| Technical | 30% | 30% | 30% |\n| Strategy | 30% | 30% | 30% |\n| Tactics | 20% | 15% | 10% |\n\nTo maximize available gym time, the teams will use the gym when it is available, not at the expense of any other sport. Open gyms at lunch and weight room sessions will help the teams train during the fall season. \nKey Dates \nThe Senior Boys team will have the longest and most intensive season and the Junior Boys will play a modified version of that season. The Bantam Boys will playa short season that focuses on player development. \n","cbCaindonS1bI5P0","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaindonS1bI5P0","pdf",2994095,82,"English","# Program Outline\n## A New Way to Organize High School Basketball\n## Key Dates\n## Collaboration Among the Teams\n## Level of Play\n# Basketball Curriculums\n# Staple Drills\n## Ballhandling Drills\n## Defensive Drills\n## Dribble Drive Drills\n## Pindown Drills\n## Pick & Roll Drills\n## Post Play Drills\n## Rebounding Drills\n## Shooting Drills\n## Transition Drills\n## Game Situations\n# Appendices","[{\"question\":\"How does the program organize basketball teams at different age levels?\",\"answer\":\"The school fields teams at the Senior, Junior, and Bantam Boys levels.
