Within this department the porter messenger team is responsible for: internal and external deliveries and post including sorting and delivery, external cleaning, driving, support for events, office moves.  \nMain Purpose of the Job: To provide an effective and efficient porter messenger service within a small team across all sites including outstations.  \nResponsible to: Senior Porter Messenger  \nDuties:  \n􀁸 Delivery of Museum retail stock to shops across our sites  \n􀁸 Setting up and taking down for a wide variety of Museum events  \n􀁸 To assist in taking deliveries of various goods received from couriers and contractors  \n􀁸 Driving duties include post runs to and from outstations, delivering parcels, objects and equipment  \n􀁸 Driving staff and visitors to outstations, between sites and other destinations as requested  \n􀁸 General cleaning of outside spaces including maintaining signage, sweeping outside spaces, jet washing and deep cleaning as required  \n􀁸 Maintain the museum's fleet of vehicles which includes two minibuses, vansand golf buggy  \n􀁸 Assisting in the moving and assembling of office furniture and helping with office moves  \n􀁸 To ensure external areas are suitably safe for staff and patrons with sweeping and gritting  \n􀁸 Sort, deliver and collect internal and external mail from all Museum sites  \n􀁸 Delivery of refreshments for events  \n􀁸 Communicate any issues of importance to the line manager  \n􀁸 Other tasks of a similar nature as requested by the line manager  \nSkills and experience  \nEssential  \n􀁸 Strong team player  \n􀁸 Able to communicate effectively  \n􀁸 Ability to adapt to changing expectations and demands  \n􀁸 Reasonable level of physical fitness as some heavy lifting will be required when transporting goods  \n􀁸 Good customer care skills  \n􀁸 Flexible approach including working overtime when required  \n􀁸 A full clean UK driving licence is required.
