We have a Resolution to allow property tax installment payments. Jim, do you want to jump in here? Go ahead. \nJim Murphy, Good afternoon. The resolution that you’ll have before you here in a moment pertains to a petition to the Department of Local Government Finance for installment tax payment agreements that would be set up between a qualified taxpayer and the County Treasurer, I suppose, for the ’07 pay ’08 reconciling statement only, so that, and it, it would allow the qualified taxpayer to make up to four installments. Those installments, the first installment would be due April 13th, and that last one would be due on July the 13th. They, the taxpayer gets to pick however many installments they want to make, whatever they can afford, so they can get it taken care of. But I, I cut it off in July so that we would be able to have this taken care of before we get into the next billing cycle. \nWhen we, if you folks all approve of the, and I think all of you have been given a copy of this, and if you approve of all this, I, we’re certain that we can take care of whatever the, whatever the demands that we have in the Treasurer’s office, it’s kind ofa short time, we’ll have, we’ll have a very short time for folks to get signed up for this and get this taken care of by Monday. But your Attorney has, he has indicated that he will indeed provide us, the Treasurer’s office with a memorandum of understanding between the taxpayer and the County so that we can get these things goings, probably starting midday tomorrow and all day Monday; anybody that wants to sign up for these, if it’s appropriate for them, they will be able to do it. Scott also checked with the DLGF, and they will approve this… \nAt this time, a cell phone went off. \nPorter County Council Special Meeting April 8, 2009 \nMr. Murphy, They will approve this as it, as it is going to be submitted. When we finish up, when you folks finish up with this resolution, then I’ll go back to my office and fax this down to the Budget Division of the DLGF tonight before I take off, so that tomorrow morning we’ll be ready to ","cbCaihQ0ncXnCPc8","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihQ0ncXnCPc8","pdf",444871,36,"English","# Special Meeting Proceedings\n## Resolution 09-04-08 Approval\n## Petition and Installment Payment Details\n## Discussion and Unanimous Vote","[{\"question\":\"What did Resolution 09-04-08 approve?\",\"answer\":\"It approved the forwarding of the petition to the Department of Local Government Finance for an installment tax payment agreement.\"},{\"question\":\"How many installments were allowed and when were they due?\",\"answer\":\"Qualified taxpayers could make up to four installments, with the first due April 13 and the last due July 13.\"},{\"question\":\"What was the voting outcome on the resolution?\",\"answer\":\"The resolution was carried on a unanimous roll call vote, seven to zero.\"}]","Porter County Council - Special Meeting - April 8, 2009 - Resolution 09-04-08 | PDF",1789799866,13]
