To provide plant operation services to the work teams.  \n2. Maintain a high and consistent approach with the usage of all Council’s plant requirements.  \n3. Liaise with team leaders to enable optimum utilisation of Council’s plant.  \n4. Ensure that council’s plant are maintained on a daily basis, with regard to:  \n􀁸 Interior and exterior cleanliness  \n􀁸 Daily maintenance checks  \n􀁸 Immediate reporting of all defects relevant to Council’s plant through the correct channels  \n5. To operate Council’s plant professionally to the standards of the Section  \n6. To maintain a daily diary of plant movements to enable monitoring of Council’s plant.  \n7. To carry out duties relating to Plant Operations, General Labouring & other duties as required on Council’s roads, drainage and footpath assets or other works deemed necessary by the team leader.  \n\n| COMMUNICATION\u003Cbr>This position requires verbal communication with Civil Operations team members. Basic written communication skills are required to complete forms.\u003Cbr>Examples of communication include using Council’s radio network (2 way radio), using mobile phone if required, filling in reports as required, organising location drop off of materials. |\n| --- |\n| JUDGEMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING\u003Cbr>This position requires the operator to show sound judgment and problem solving skills.\u003Cbr>The operator would be expected to try and solve minor problems associated with the operation of the plant item, the efficient use of plant item & maintain OH&S requirements for site. |\n| AUTHORITY\u003Cbr>This position carries the delegated authority from the Capital Works Co-ordinator and requires the operator to make decisions relating to the authorised use of the plant item and ensuring that the unit maximizes production on the work site in a safe and effective manner. |\n\nSKILL, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL  \nCurrent Class MR (formally 3A licence) Drivers licence  \nWorkcover certification in the safe operation of excavator, front end loader and backhoe  \nExperience in road construction, maintenance procedures , drainage works, other civil works & concrete works.  \nExperience in the operation of small plant.  \nWilling and available to work anywhere within the Council area.
