Yes, it does modeling in 3D, but the biggest benefit for electrical is not that it can model 3D lights. Rather, it is that it produces a coordinated model with the insurance that everything is circuited and documented correctly. Setting up Revit MEP for Electrical can be painful. There are many pesky settings and things that just do not work the way you want them to work. Come and join me as we discuss the major items that I have discovered that keep electrical engineers up at night trying to configure Revit MEP to work the way they want it to. We tackle problems such as editing panel schedules, changing graphics of nested families, working with homeruns, working with hosted fixtures, and working with load classifications. Don‟t let Revit MEP get the best of you. Learn how to fix these pesky settings before they drive you crazy! \nLearning Objectives \nAt the end of this class, you will be able to: \n􀁸 Control the graphics of nested symbol families \n􀁸 Apply tips and tricks when creating electrical circuits \n􀁸 Work with and configure electrical panel schedules \n􀁸 Explain how Load Classifications and Demand Factors are applied \nAbout the Speaker \nMike Massey graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Architecture. He has 15 plus years of experience working as an architect. He is currently Senior AEC Application Specialist for Applied Software. Since joining Applied Software, Mike specializes in BIM implementation for architects and MEP engineers. In addition, Mike has been responsible for providing customer demonstrations, implementation, training and support for the Autodesk AEC products for architects, engineers, and contractors. Mike has spoken at various AIA functions on the benefits of BIM (Building Information Modeling), conducted regional CAD Camp seminars, is a repeat speaker at Revit Technology Conference, and is a repeat speaker at Autodesk University. Mike is a contributing author for Autodesk Official Training Courseware and has also been published in a number of industry magazines and newsletters regarding BIMand other productivity topics related to the Autodesk Building Solutions \n[mike.massey@asti.com](mike.massey@asti.com) \nContents \nLearning Objectives .................................................................................................................1 \nAbout the Speaker...................................................................................................................1 \nIntroduction..............................................................................................................................3 \nWorking with Nested Families .................................................................................................3 \nCorrecting Upside down Switch Labels ................................................................................3 \nControl the Graphics of Nested Symbol Families .................................................................5 \nWorking with Light Fixtures......................................................................................................6 \nChanging the Graphics of a Light Fixture .............................................................................6 \nChanging the Origin of a Light Fixture ..................................................................................7 \nConverting a ceiling hosted family to a face hosted family ...................................................8 \nPlacing Hosted Lights without a Face (Ceiling) ..................................................................10 \nSpace not Calculating Foot Candles ..................................................................................12 \nTips and tricks when creating electrical circuits .........................................................","cbCaiaRLIr5BApou","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiaRLIr5BApou","pdf",876782,23,"English","# Learning Objectives\n# About the Speaker\n# Introduction\n# Working with Nested Families\n## Correcting Upside down Switch Labels\n## Control the Graphics of Nested Symbol Families\n# Working with Light Fixtures\n## Changing the Graphics of a Light Fixture\n## Changing the Origin of a Light Fixture\n## Converting a ceiling hosted family to a face hosted family\n## Placing Hosted Lights without a Face (Ceiling)\n## Space not Calculating Foot Candles\n# Tips and tricks when creating electrical circuits\n## Double Homeruns\n## 3 Most Important Parameters when Inserting Panels\n# Working with Panel Schedules\n## Load Names in Panel Schedule\n## Getting Panels to Number down instead of across\n## Panel Schedule Templates\n# Load Classifications and Demand Factors\n# Conclusion","[{\"question\":\"What is the main goal of using Revit MEP for electrical engineering in this class?\",\"answer\":\"The class focuses on coordinating circuits, panels, and schedules so the project is documented correctly and all elements are properly circuited.\"},{\"question\":\"Which panel schedule issues are covered?\",\"answer\":\"It covers editing panel schedules, including how load names appear, how panels number down instead of across, and how to use panel schedule templates.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the class help with load classifications and demand factors?\",\"answer\":\"It explains how load classifications and demand factors are applied, helping engineers configure Revit MEP so electrical load information works as intended.\"}]","Pesky Electrical Settings That Drive You Crazy - Class Handout | PDF",1790375827,8]
