Proposals do not need to be extensive, perhaps a page or two in total length. Word counts are suggestive so do not worry if you exceed them. \nIf you have any questions, you may contact one of the Co-Chairs of the External Relations Subcommittee: Anne Dijkstra ([a. m.dijkstra@utwente. nl](a. m.dijkstra@utwente. nl)) or Marlit Hayslett (marlit@hayslett[consulting.com](consulting.com)). \nWhen you complete the proposal, please submit it via email to one or both of the Co-Chairs listed above. We will review it with the entire External Relations subcommittee and contact you with any questions and/or a decision. Official approval can take a month or two but feel free to stay in touch with any questions. \nProposed Title of your symposium \nIntroduction to the theme and topic (about 350 words) . Prompts might include: What theme and topic will your symposium address? Why this theme and topic? Is it part of/related to a larger project? How does your location/host venue relate to the theme (if it does)? \nPotential Submissions could focus on: \no Research \no List of concepts / perspectives on research topics \no Practice \no List of practices / perspectives for practice \no Other? \nPlease note that symposia are ideally meant to engage both researchers and practitioners from the region to learn more and exchange experiences from science communication. \nOrganization: \nTo organize a PCST symposium, you should have a Local Organizing Team/Committee and an Advisory Committee. The local team is responsible for logistical details such as arranging the venues, event website and registration system, catering, communications with registrants, etc. The team members may be employed by the host organization/s or other affiliations as needed. \nThe Advisory Committee is responsible for helping to shape the content of the event. They maybe involved with reviewing abstracts and designing the event programme. We recommend including 2-3 members of the PCST Scientific Committee on this committee, preferably from the region where the symposium will be held. \nPlease provide the following details to the best of your knowledge at this time. You may add and remove committee members as needs require. \no Local Team: Names and affiliations \no Advisory Committee: Names and affiliations \no Any additional personnel that you will need or have to support your event? \nProgramme: \nThe symposium programme defines the types and formats of content that will be available during the event. Please provide the following details to the best of your knowledge at the planning phase. \no Proposed date/s for the symposium \no Expected number of participants \no Duration of the symposium (they are typically 1.5 days to 2.5 days in length) \no Content formats (panels, paper talks, demonstrations, etc) \no Estimated number of each format? \no Will there be an online / hybrid possibility? \no Other? \nEvent website: \nEach symposium should have a unique website that displays logistical information. Ideally, this website accepts abstract submissions, or links clearly to the system that accepts abstract submissions. The symposium website is usually located on the website of the organization whois hosting the symposium. \nPlease provide the following details to the best of your knowledge at this time. \no What is your plan for your symposium website? \no Where will it be located? \no Will it accept abstract submissions directly or link to another system? \nSocial Programme: \nSome symposia organizers offer a cultural or social activity to allow participants to experience the local area. Ideas include museums, sporting events, gardens, and other similar attractions that are unique to your area. \nPlease provide the following details to the best of your knowledge at this time. \no Do you plan to offer a social activity or activities?
