Five episodes of radio documentary on men and boys engagement in GEWE, SGBV and Conflict prevention has been developed, produced and repeatedly aired on kiss 104FM. Male intervention in conflict prevention and awareness on sexual gender based violence and it’s prevention has seemingly increased in the 20 communities through weekly radio discussions, megaphone messaging, supporting their campaigns on GEWE on special international and national days and one of which is the INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY and as a sustainability strategy 20 male champions were identified (1 in each community) and awarded micro grants of Sierra Leone SLL 9,150,000 (USD equivalent about 900) each for livelihood support and community development. With this grant they have been able to start up the businesses (garri, palm oil, rice, vegetable oil) and in addition some have introduced a micro credit system for women with flexible payment plan and minimal interest rate. Male champions will also be provided with intensive training to enhance their knowledge and skills in business development and sustainability.\nA weekly radio discussion was introduced with panel of representatives from Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Support Unit of the Police, paralegals from LegalAid Board, Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs, NGO’s, community and religious leaders to create awareness on SGBV, referral pathways, conflict prevention and popularization of relevant policies and laws with emphasizes on the three gender acts in a simplified format, this led to widespread awareness and visibility as a wider coverage was penetrated and shared their contributions through the programs.\nAs a way of using economic empowerment to tackle social issues, through the ‘savings and internal lending community’ and supporting priority community action plans, there has not only being an increased interest and participation in conflict and GBV prevention and advocacy but some of the women action groups have been able to generate SLL 60,000,000 on their own whilst others have dived into agriculture (groundnut and cassava farms) and started a VSLA thereby increasing income, creating job opportunities and food security.\nAs we gradually reach the end of the project we have supported 92  cases of gender based violence, provided mobile phones and credit for E-alerts, continuously supported 20 safe homes, 40 radio discussions and implemented all major activities developed on the detailed implementation plan.\nIn a few sentences, explain whether the project has had a positive human impact.
