Top students with a STRONG geographic preference are strongly advised to do an away rotation in the city of their choice. They should consult with Dr. Hilibrand to discuss further. \nStudents who are not in the top half of their JMC class and / or have USMLE scores below the median are strongly advised to meet with Dr. Hilibrand to discuss their career plans. For some of these students, it may be possible to map out a strategy for successful application to residency in Orthopedic surgery. However, given the competitiveness of Orthopedic surgery residency applications, most of these students are strongly encouraged to consider applying to other, less competitive specialties. . \nFor all other students, we recommend that they use two or three of their potential core elective blocks to rotate at other hospitals in addition to the TJUH rotation. Once again, they are encouraged to meet with Dr Hilibrand to discuss any questions they may have in planning these rotations.","cbCaieq7FY42iQxh","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieq7FY42iQxh","pdf",101924,"English","# Rotation Type\n## Inpatient Sub-I (4 Weeks)\n## Outpatient Sub-I (4 Weeks)\n# Proposed Track for Orthopedic Surgery\n## Specialty Specific Electives\n## Additional Elective(s)\n## EM/Advanced Clinical Skills (4 weeks)\n# Rotation Names\n# Footnotes","[{\"question\":\"How are inpatient and outpatient sub-internship rotations structured?\",\"answer\":\"The plan uses an Inpatient Sub-I for 4 weeks and an Outpatient Sub-I for 4 weeks as the core rotation structure.\"},{\"question\":\"What elective requirements differ for top students versus others?\",\"answer\":\"Top students (top 1/4 of class) with USMLE Step I \\u003e 240 C are eligible for 12 weeks of additional electives; all other students have a maximum of one 4-week course.\"},{\"question\":\"When are away rotations recommended and what guidance is provided?\",\"answer\":\"All Jeff students should do ORTH 401 to build relationships and obtain letters.
